BAD call to get rid of Hurell. Other clubs would be lining up to get him.

I see Inu is looking at going to the Storm mid season ... what about giving them Neilsen? A swap could be involved too. They do have some useful guys in playing reggies that would help to strengthen the Warriors depth.

JUst read that the Warriors have Matai down as a centre being pursued, along with other broken down crocks Bronson Goodwin and Kevin Champion.
They will need to build a new nursing home the way things are going at the warriors.

Also looks like Hurrell will be on his way out if this the case reading the story.
Cant blame him.
You know your in trouble when you have to use a second rower to fill your centre spot.
Ben Henry.?
Gee that was painful to watch, luckily the storm had lost their centre at just the right time.
lolz. obvious troll is obvious.

Nielsen is playing reserves this weekend.

Hopefully that means he is no longer seen as a regular first grader

Or just trying to find some form while the test match is on.

Form or dropped, either way I'd be happy.

Henry has played the majority of his NRL career at centre?

Done a pretty solid job of it too.

Ok I want to know where all this chatter about Hurrell leaving is coming from.

Remember when Hurrell got dropped last year and he was rumoured to be leaving? Remember when Johnson got yanked against Penrith and was rumoured to be leaving?

Player managers playing the games they play.

Henry was playing good there. I wouldnt want him there full time but he is a good fix to call in when you need someone there.

Also the BS about Hurrell leaving is just some media-smoke. We just happened to drop Hurrell at the same it was reported we were after a star centre, so the media creates a story out of that. What is probably happening (it would be nice if the media speculated on likely scenarios) is Neilsen will be gone but we still want an established player on that side.

Which I agree with. Grabbing Matai for 2 years while Hurrell and Laumape come along would be a good move. Two years and Hurrell and Laumape will be established in their own right.

Matai's terrific, at Manly... I reckon he's be a poor signing, the culture at the Warriors and the inconsistency would be the ruin of him, I reckon... My pick is he's get frustrated and discipline would be lost

Fair comment. Dane Neilsen has fallen to ruins here. Trying to play inside Manu, and with our overall culture.

Dane need's a stable winger than he can trust on his outside to be able to perform.

Alright, but can we at least get one thing straight. Ben Henry is not a centre.
If they get rid of Neilson and lose Hurrell and bring in Matai, then you will need another centre as well.

I have watched Henry play and apart from defending he offers little to nothing in attack.
Hurrell can break a line and smash through the opposition , Henry cant. And he is slow.

I seen grand mothers in wheelchairs faster than Henry.

They aren't going to lose Hurrell.

and even if they did lose Hurrell and bring in Matai, then you have Matai and a developing Laumape, who will probably be the centre with Hurrell next year anyway unless they bring a name in to push Laumape to the wing/reserves.

Me too, it's called pushing them downhill.

No Henry isn't a centre but when you dont want to play Neilsen or Hurrell your options are pretty thin.

Yeah...thats a little flawed. while Henry lacks in attack, Hurrell lacks in defence...so either way you're getting a weakness?

We aren't going to lose Hurrell.
If we pay Mannering $700,000 a year to stay, well over his market value,we won't risk losing Hurrell.

Your kidding right? I mean I know Benry doesn't offer what Hurrell does in attack, but he's not hopeless. He threw a great pass for our first try on Friday Night. He's not the first choice but what we need more than anything at the moment is to be able to defend our line. We haven't been able to do that since the 2011 prelim final, except for a small patch last year where we were pretty good. Though don't get me wrong Hurrell needs to be in our 17 somewhere without a shadow of a doubt.

I'm a massive fan of Matai and have been for years. Do I want him to come to the Warriors? Of course, but I don't know if he will be as good here as he is at Manly. Manly have two awesome halves that know when to give their outside men early ball. They also run backline plays better than anyone else in the comp. The Warriors aren't like that at all. For Matai to go as great here as he has at Manly we would need halves that can give him early ball, but can also set him up on the outside of a backline play. Also, I don't know how he would cope with Manu on his outside. With all that said though I would like to see him finish his career at the Warriors, though I also kinda get why it might not be the best idea.
