Daniel Anderson eyes court action against Parramatta Eels over a payout dispute

He's the one who gave the club an ultimatum - give me an extension or give me the arse.

He got plan B.

And now he's got the f**king nerve to expect all the cash for the final year of contract - the same year he couldn't be bothered working unless he got a contract extension.

I supported Anderson through this year of on-field mediocroity but now I hope they sue him for breach of contract.

This is a gee up right. Have you not ever been owed money before. If you have, did you settle for less.

Five weeks after his dismissal, Anderson has not been paid one cent of his entitlements because his manager Jim Banaghan and Eels CEO Paul Osborne cannot agree on a figure.
Wasn't this the very same Banaghan that publicly came out and leaked the confirmation of news that Monaghan was indeed a bestial freak? Hardly trustworthy imo. For what it's worth, the bolded bit seems to hint that the board did offer him the money alleged in the contract but that Banaghan may have been asking for higher figures, we all know what managers these days are capable of.

Luckily the Monaghan issue is still up and about overshadowing every league-related controversy atm, it means this won't publicly affect us negatively.

No point in wasting a weekend getting them all fixed, you're better off just chipping away at it...

Ahhmm. No, they need sharpening. Thanks for the reminder. No weekend wasted doing that. They're only chisels. :?

I'm sorry I wasn't punny enough Suity! The connection between chisels and 'chipping away' doesn't make for the finest pun, I do admit.

Don't worry though, I'll keep hammering away at it, hope I haven't left you with an axe to grind. :D

Wow, I don't even have to add my 2c to this thread... it's already been done by many many others..

Though the argument that no-one can know all the intricate details so no-one can make a comment about their opinion (given what is known/revealed) is starting to look like very political posting imo...

No but I have tried to get someone to sack me because I knew I'd be better off than if I quit.

Go back and read the historical events of 3P and their PO dealings with SK and its obvious DA knew what was going on. In fact DA and many others (including players) knew what 3P was up to as early as mid last season. Lets see what comes out just before and during the Dec 2010 and early 2011 board elections.

Anyone who thinks a potential 300k settlement would not be in the hands of lawyers seriously has no idea.

It would be commercial suicide for either party not to get advice and try to structure the payment in the most advantageous way.

For example, these situations are often classified a redundancies fortax benefits to the employee (won't work here obviously).

Sometimes the employer wil get a discount for paying in a lump sum, and if the employee has new job prospects, that is often a huge bonus because he can earn the payout and a new salary, effectively acquiring a bonus of up to a year's salary.

And sometimes one party's manager doesn't return calls because another of his clients has been caught f$&@ing a dog that week.

The only things that have been revealed are: that it is in the hands with the lawyers, and that Anderson has used the media again to leverage a private dispute.

Where are the cries of "leaks" now?

I thought it was only the people who had any question marks over the way the board handles stuff who made up speculation about reasons behind things? ...... hmmmmmm, maybe not :-k

f**k Anderson.

He doesn't give a f**k about the club.

And you know this for a fact do you?

It is my understanding that Daniel Anderson has dreamed of nothing more than coaching his beloved Eels. It is the job he has always coverted. To finally prove himself worthy & then to have snatched away from him by being told the people currently running this club would rather have a nuffy "with potential" than an accomplished coach such as himself is just cruel.

there is an obligation on any employer to pay out the employee within a timely manner where the employee has "been let go". I would imagine that the time frame here would be very close to that mark.

Sure there is, but if the settlement is in dispute then it's in dispute. Who knows who's 'at fault'. Let's wait and see what happens instead of making sh*t up.

nothing made up in my post, just stating fact. ;-)

Unfortunately with the lack of "political input" allowed in the new "3 wise monkeys" forum, what is released in the media is all that we can go by, but according to some here all media is fiction and not even remotely close to fact when it suits them but was gospel this time 2 years ago.

It is very hard to get both sides of the stories, to make an informed decision either way.
