He's a dead set wanker when it comes to the media, carried on like a pork chop a couple of years ago as well.
The bloke didn't ask anything offensive, just asked how he thinks his form is. Just answer the question ya sour faced merkin.

The wanker slows the play the ball for his side every time he gets tackled in his own 20 by winging like.... a wanker and trying to get a penalty instead of getting a fast play the ball and always blames his team mates for his mistakes on field....

He was our most influential player in our premiership year and I thank him for that, but us saints fans never really felt connected to him. He came, he went, and no one really raised an eyebrow. We tried to like him, but geeze it was hard!

Interesting observation made on the jubilee ave forum that when saints players were shaking hands, they didnt even pause for a second with Darius. But with jez smith "they were practically dry humping his leg". Says a lot about how saints regard Darius, despite what should be a deep bond thanks to 2010

He strikes me as a Stewie McGill type...a bloke that is not easy to get along with.

His press conference the other day was a disgrace. Just show some manners and decency you merkin.

Hes a merkin mercenary, but he can play.

As SaintDoc said, really appreciate what he did for us. Never really warmed to him, but he always played hard.

His form in 2010 was amazing.

Cant stand the merkin these days though.

Yep, not the place to have a bad attitude & turn it into a perceived personal attack. The questions were harmless & by behaving the way he did he made himself look foolish ( again ). As the guys said on Matty Johns' show last night, you're representing your club when you talk to the media with important people like sponsors & fans to consider.

Where would he rate in the fullback department in the comp? 4th? 5th best? 6th even? Inglis, Slater, Barba, Stewart and Gordon IMO are all superior number 1's over him. Argument can be made for Locke, Hayne, Robinson and Bowen.

I think he's as ordinary as anyone, nothing outstanding about him. He's a little bigger and stronger than some I suppose, thats really it after a deep dig for something. He was just randomly selected for origin that first time, really could have been absolutely anyone. He was playing for the broncos at the time with I think denan kemp on the other wing and there was nothing between them. Kemp a little more skillfull and quick and boyd a touch bigger and stronger. Both bottom of the barrel generic wingers that wouldn't necessarily stand out in a qld cup game. Then boyd got picked for origin, for no discernable reason, and maybe more significantly mal immediately made him feel like he owned the spot. This is when he went smug, but also started playing to his (limited) potential. If anyone plays to their full potential in the nrl they're gonna appear a decent player, but its just confidence, and mal could have given it to anyone but for some unknown reason gave it to boyd. Usually qld blesses gifted players with confidence, and its worked out very well and created legends and champions.

NSW picks on form, and instills no confidence because there's no job security. So they put inferior players on the field with no confidence and wonder why they lose, but I digress.

Boyd was an almost nsw-esque selection, if there was even form there, I didn't see it. But he since got qld confidence and played to his potential as a result, almost making it seem like a good choice, but it wasn't.

Congrats on your appointment as fans spokesman.

Easy on the "we" talk. I've got a lotta love for Darius

His attitude when tasked with PC's stinks.

Media should simply walk away when he turns up and run zero stories on his team for that week.

I've tried to hate Darius since he left, but I just can't do it. Not that he's all that likeable, he was just a fantastic player for us

I think the reason he gets a lot of hate off Dragons fans is 2011.

In '09-'10 he returned the ball with all his might , & he was unstoppable in 2010. But once he knew Bennett was leaving this stopped, & didn't look like he gave a shit. Strangely, it looks like nothing has changed 2 years on.

Oh god, I pray Boyd & Blake Ferguson aren't mates. The ozone layer wouldn't be able to contain the smug.

Great player, but he always irritated me. Stays down too much, arrogant, smug; that and he always has a go at his team-mates rather than stick his hand up and accept he screwed up.

Michael Gordon really? Locke no chance, Hayne is better than anyone on his day but too hot cold, Robinson is decent but hasn't got the runs on the board like Boyd, and Bowen is still a good footballer but I wouldn't have him over Darius
I know Boyd is hated, abit of a sook and has a thoroughly punchable face but he's a damn good footballer, underrated running game (especially out of dummy half), pretty reliable at the back and probably one of the best ball playing fullbacks around.
People harp on about his selection in origin but there's a reason why he keeps getting picked, it's because qld selectors show great loyalty in tried and tested players, he's never let qld down before and his defence for a player playing out of position is very good (that game where he dominated Gasnier stands out in my mind).
As for comparing him to Denan Kemp, that's just ridiculous, there's a reason why one bloke is a journeyman playing qld cup and the other bloke is a premiership winning, origin and test rep who's got a Clive Churchill medal and a Dally M fullback of the year medal in his cabinet.
