Dave Taylor looking to get out of his Titans contract

That's entirely incorrect. If it can be proved, through emails or other that he has agreed to terms, he is bound by law to that agreement.

Before you mention Turner or Inglis, both parties in thoses cases (ie Titans and Broncos respectively) chose to not hold each player to their agreement. They had every right however, to enforce those contracts.

You don't have to put pen to paper to be bound to a contract.

Where does this put the Luke Lewis situation with Souffs in 2008?

Noone will hold anyone in the NRL to a verbal agreement. For obvious reasons. Why would you want a player in your jersey who didn't even want to sign the contract. He'll never put in 100%.

Doing a Moltzen
Doing a Inglis (because planes don't fly in the rain :sarcasm:)
Doing a Turner
Doing a Lewis
Doing a Moi Moi

The ARLC really needs to put strict rules in, because apparently a man's word is worth nothing in the NRL nowadays...

Hardly fair. His former manager forged his signature on the Melbourne contract that Fui never agreed to.

Why would he be spewing? Because he will be on a smaller deal, competitive perhaps, but smaller. He didn't want to leave QLD in the first place and now his golden chance to go home with a pay rise might be scuttled. He'll be living in Sydney where his family doesn't want to be and dealing with a higher cost of living.

Of course he's a chance to do a Moltzen or a Turner or a Lewis...or similar. But remember that Souths took the original deal away - it doesn't exist anymore. If Dave goes back to Richo with cap in hand do you think the money/terms will be the same? Not if Souths are smart business people...........

The Roosters are looking to buy a few players for next year, so are Newcastle and Saints.
Newcastle is closer to home for him too, and maybe he could hitch a ride on Nathan's plane with Wayne.

And if there is a way we can move Redfern to QLD, please speak up. I'm sure a contingent could be quickly organised to handle the relocation. It'll be done by Friday.

One word: Greed

Remember what happened with Petero? He and his manager tried to hold out for a bigger deal, didn't get it, went back to the Broncos and the original offer was taken away. Dellavision and his manager also did the same thing and big Dell subsequently got shafted by Ch9. Hope that grub Taylor endures the same fate. It will make him think twice about his actions

I'm sick of seing this sort of shit. The ARLC needs to do something to put a broom through the whole player trading process, and set up some very clear and precise rules and enforced them with fines for players, managers, and clubs.

Heard that before somewhere . . . something about the same as bringing the game into disrepute

Dave Taylor. Rabbitoh for life. He never wanted to leave. It was his wife. His family aren't even in SEQLD, they're up north. He wanted to stay, now he gets his excuse to stay. Soon he'll anounce his Moltzen move, then we'll announce we've extended him to the end of 2016. His missus will get a few diamonds thrown her way. Everyones happy.

You have to be a troll.

The exact same outcome. 50uff$ let him turn his back on the agreement.

Yeah there might have been some other reason why we let Lewis go. Ultimately it comes down to letting a player go who doesn't want to be there. Saints learned the hard way when Tallis wanted out.

You think they'd be looking for some bargin buy's; some youngsters they can get for cheap but instead there throwing big money @ player's like Idris, Myles & Taylor, none of which will help them win a comp, they let there best player in Nathan Friend leave the club, I hope they do fold, there a bunch of clowns.

We are supposed to believe that some major revelation about the Titans financials suddenly dawned on Taylor in the last day or so???

This has been discussed for over a year now?

Pretty obvious Souffs found a few brown paper bags somewhere in Rusty's closet, and have offered it Carl Webb the 2nd way.
