A guy where I work likes wearing Hawaiian shirts. On the last off-site team day he was told not to wear one as other people thought they were silly.
He then complained that visible tattoos offended him (a couple of guys have "sleeves") so the day became long sleeved shirts only!

Fun Fact. Not sure if the rules are still the same. When I was in the Army through the 80's and 90's if you got a tatt without your Commanding Officers permission you could be charged with self inflicted injuries.

One of the blokes in charge in my business was told to wear long sleeves to cover up his tats.
He is totally fine with it.
He agrees that some people are intimidated by blokes covers in tats.

Personally I think the darker the skin the harder it is to see the tattoo
In saying that I really like some traditional tattoos on islanders.
I can respect the unique design for each family and for when the men come of age etc.

On the other hand when some skinny white wanker gets a tribal tat I think he looks like a f**kwit.

I said people will get knocked from a job because of visible tattoos.
I also said the majority of them look shit IMO.
The blokes with random shit all over them.
But hey
I do like quite a lot of them as well.
It’s a bit like music
I love music but most of it these days is shit. IMO.
Or art- I can appreciate excellent artworks but again...a lot of it I think it utter f**king rubbish.

I just don't understand why people care. I probably think some of the music that you like is is shit. You probably think the same about some of the music that I like is shit. But if it makes you happy, why should I care?

And that's kind of my point. In the context of employment, my taste in music has as much bearing on my ability to do my job as the tattoos on my skin. Zero.
