I wouldn't say that the Liverpool midfield is as you put "deadsh*t" when there are quality players like Gerrard, Meireles and Lucas (who is well and truly underrated) playing in it. I think we will see one of the above and easily good enought to get a Europa spot. And we will get a Europa spot. Next season we should be pushing for a top 4 spot with some added investment.

I'm not thrilled with the fee for Carroll but from what i've read its up to 35 million pounds based on appearances etc. He's very young and has talent besides being english the price was always going to be inflated.

We only had a net spend of 2 million after the sale of torres and babel. We now have 2 quality strikers instead of the traitorres who has been sh*t for a while now and his heart wasn't in it.

Yeah, posted a loss before they bought anyone. So they were never in the black. Unless Torres is playing for minus wages i doubt next times results will be better...

That 4-4-2 team is horrible. Gerrards ability is limited in a mid 2 and Mereilas has not got the game for it.

4-2-3-1 is your best bet. Carroll up front as the target man, with Gerrard behind, Saurez on the left and Kuyt on the right. Then you need two mids to hold more. I'd go with Poulson and Lucas as the less defensive duties you give Mereiles the better IMO.

How much did you get for Babbel? I thought your wonderful owners actually made a profit from this window, and taken one of your two big players and swapped him for some expensive risks.

The formations I posted is what I think we will see. Kenny wants to play some attacking football so I doubt we will play one up front.

You are forgetting we had numerours offers turned down on deadline day adam, richards etc out owners were willing to put up another 25m or so.

Defence there is room for shuffling, eg Johnson back to the right, but for me I like having Kelly at right back, not as good going forwards as johnson (but has a decent cross on him) but a safer defender.

Re buying centre backs - Now Agger seems to be finally played regularly he's got one spot nailed down, finding a long term partner will be interesting. Kelly and Wilson both centre backs by trade, could end up next year having Kelly in the middle and Johnson on the right with Agger, but then we still badly need a left back.

Other spot that needs obvious strengthening is the wing. Kuyts been reasonable for sometime but would like to see him moved on this summer, replaced with a decent winger. There is talk of Villa potentially selling Young which would be a very good signing.

Defensive midfielder well who knows.

Strengthen these positions we are back to a decent starting 11, although then we bviously have to worry about depth.

I'd like to see wilson get more games, he was a Scottish league winner with Rangers and has also played in the champions league as well, made his debut for scotland as well. Kenny was instrumental in bringing him to anfield so I believe he will get more game time now as well.

I Believe the back line next year will be:

Johnson - Agger - Skrtel/Wilson - Insua/ Or New Left Back

To the person who said a midfield of Poulson and Lucas, that is the worst combination you could ever have, It was tried earlier in the season and it did not work.
