Dead-line day and the glaring ommissions out of the top clubs is Tottenham, who badly needed to sign at the very least a striker.

The good thing about this is none of you f**kers can ever accuse City of overpaying for players or ruining football ever again.

Yes we can like someone else pointed out the wages are what get players going to City, also most of the Carrol fee (it was absurd) came from the Torres deal so in reality they were spending the money of Abramovich so in reality Liverpool only spent something like 15 million pounds. which IMO is very good business.

id be laughing if we had someone decent enough to replace him

ffs now we have to rely on leon best and shola ameobi

spurs getting rejected is good to watch

How about Nile Ranger, he looks like he is in the mould of Andy Carroll. Whats he like, sh*t? Young? Potential?

YNWA

King Kenny will now lead a much improved squad into the champions league for next season, ahead of Chelsea and Torres will look like a right git and will regret his decision. :p Perhaps wishful thinking :p

Yet Honest 'Arry decided to chip in with a bid for Charlie Adam at the last minute.

there in 7th at the moment and they are on the rise
I know you're pretty deluded from the posts I've seen from you already on this forum.

But if you think that Liverpool can finish higher than at least three of Manchester City, Bolton, Chelsea, or Tottenham, you're on some strong stuff.

So, replacing Torres with Carroll, not adding to your deadsh*t midfield or hopless backline, and you think Liverpool are going to still qualify for Europa?

Please.

In other interesting news, prior to the Torres transfer Chelsea had reported that they had become 'cash positive' for the first time since Roman took control. I can't find a direct link to the report (Chelsea fans?), but apparently the club had a positive cash inflow of £3.8m in the year compared to a net outflow of £16.9m in the previous year. It believes it is now well positioned to meet UEFA’s financial fair play rules.

That lasted all of about two hours.

Oh there's this as well :

No Liverpool, Citeh or Liverpool in European competitions in 2012?

They basically looked at it this way.

Spend nothing, qualify for the FFP rules, but be in grave danger of missing out on the biggest cash cow of all, the Chumps League. And with Anelka/Drogba in the twilight of their careers, luring replacements to the Bridge would have been nearly impossible.

Or spend now, secure 4th or better, and deal with the consequences later.

Ranger has potential but needs more game time to really see what he is got , personally id be starting him ahead of best , he is not bad in the air , not as good as carroll though. I guess with persistance he could become a mainstay in the side , but knowing the fat controller soon as he has proven himself we will sell him off and replace him with a hack or no one at all

Mate, with all due respect, your the one deluded if you don't think Liverpool will get a place in Europe, and If you saw in my earlier post I did say it was wishful thinking and It was supposed to be a bit of tongue in cheek. Liverpool will at least make it into the Europa League.

I wouldn't say that the Liverpool midfield is as you put "deadsh*t" when there are quality players like Gerrard, Meireles and Lucas (who is well and truly underrated) playing in it. I admit the backline is not the best but I would take Skrtel, Agger, Kelly and Johnson over Arsenals dead sh*t defence any day of the week.

Every time I have seen him play he looks like pretty good, quick and strong. Hope he turns out good for you guys.

Lucas is crucial to the Liverpool team mate, if you actually bothered to watch a game of football you would notice how crucial Lucas is to the Liverpool midfield, he does the moping up duty that players like Alex Song, John Obi Mikel and N'Zonzi play for their respective teams, without them there defence would be exposed time and time again.

Your a joke mate

If Newcastle can survive until the end of the season - which I think they can - you guys can spend that 35m. I think you lot will be fine.

I won't go into Lucas. Don't think I can discuss him objectively.

I like Meireles though. Looks a good buy.

Is that the role of Lucas to score goals. No his job is to sit in the midfield and mop up everything, read my post before you start posting irrelevant videos.

First of let me get it out of the way...:crazy::lol:

Check out the youtube vid where Hitler finds out about torres. Funny stuff.

Right, i've taken the United hat of now.

I don't understand what Liverpool are playing at. They need 2 CB's, a LB, a centre mid, and a winger. They have one sellable asset in Torres.

So they sell Torres for a very good price, on this and last seasons form 50 million is a good. But hey ho thats what they got. However instead of investing it into the team to give the squad some quality and depth they blow it on the SIXTH highest scorer from division 2 last year, and an untested guy from Ajax! It just smacks of desperation to me.

Lucas... He is not a very good Defensive mid but he looked good on the times when he has played higher up the pitch. His problem is that Gerrard and Miereles are better or at least prefered. Therefore to play him he has to go into defensive role. He plays there because there is no-one else. Maybe Spearing but he is maybe a bit young? It turns out that they spent 35 million on Carroll but got cheap when it came to Adam and lost out. Strange.

Not sure where Chelsea been positive came from. On the day they buy Luiz and Torres they posted a loss of £70 million
