Its Rd 3 so its hard to know whether this is a Bluey thing or not but when was the last time we let in a soft try at the end, even though we were beat. I can't remember it happening for a while under Cleary.

remember when the major critcisim of Cleary on here was that he couldn't motivate or fire the players up and that McClennan would be able to do that
I got a pretty good line into one of the current first grade and all I can say is that it must be pretty hard to motivate someone when you don't talk to them.

Hmm, I'm not joining the knives out group yet, it is early days. There's been some awful looking stuff, but some good stuff too. We have got off to bad starts but pegged 'em back, and IMO we have played THE two form teams and gone reasonable against 'em, although obviously not good enough yet.
Cleary had his moments too, his faves of Rovelli he only VERY begrudgingly dropped, the failed Jones experiment he refused to fix...and Inu issues as well. The 'Kick it to Manu' era that drove us all nuts...
I'm happy to have short term pain for long term gain. And yes it makes you fume when we lose...but IMO we need to give em a few weeks...I'd rather have form further on in the year than for the first few weeks then have it end in custard. So I'll have a weekly rant after losses of course, but for the most part it- may come back to haunt me- but I think the team will start to fire soon enough.

To be fair Rovelli had a good year in 2007, but definitely agree on the horrible Jones idea.
It seems that Bluey has it in for Inu as well as Cleary, picking two rookies and a guy completely out of sorts. At least Clearly had solid options in Berrigan and Moon.

The anti-Inu saga really is an enigma.

Meh, Rovelli had moments, but for the most part was lost at halfb. He did okay in the #9 though. But remember the appalling year when people were SCREAMING at Cleary to drop Ravs, put in Fein. After finally doing so, the teams fortunes changed straight away.
Ultimately, Cleary got a fair go to sort things out, IMO so should Bluey. We've just seen the third game. And there's been mistakes. But some good signs too. So if he learns what's gone wrong, and combine that with what went right...we'll all be happy campers.
But I would like to know once and for all, straight up, what coaches have against Inu, without the rhetoric. There has to be something we don't know. Or am I creating conspiracies where it is just as trivial (the smiling laid back trainer!) as we've heard?

Being a lazy trainer isn't really a trivial issue for a professional athlete.

Their job is to train - the reward is to play.

And all the fans care about is winning games. I don't care about what happens on Mt Smart number 2.

Yeah but you need to have rules for teams. And if a player doesn't follow them, they suffer the consequences. It's a simple concept - it's not a good look to pick a guy who doesn't put in. What message does that send to the young guys? Oh yeah, if you're good enough you don't have to do what the trainers say, you'll get a run anyway.

It's REALLY annoying but I can understand a coach not wanting to pick a slack trainer.

Depends what part he is not putting in, if its fitness/gym work then I could understand. Passing drills etc not so much.

Have we scored one try this season from the Bomb to Manu tactic? I am not sure we have. This is a big plus in my books.

Meh kind of I guess. Some of the last tackle options in the last 10 minutes were ridiculously bad yesterday. Another reason Inu should be in the side, I reckon he is worth 4-8 points alone each game when it comes to either scoring of a bomb or defusing them.

Well we don't know the specifics, but you'd assume its the kinda stuff that is basically forcing the coaches not to pick him.TBH I think he needs to be given an ultimatum- either pull finger so theres no reason not to select him or, or he gets an early release. I don't think the current situation is good for anyone.

Yep agree on that, we definitely look better at constructing scoring plays.I really think there's only two things that need fixing at the moment, the slow starts (obviously) and the team's currently tendency to play a bit impatiently. A bit of percentage football, especially early on, would be a good thing right now.

Lol remember when the major critcisim of Cleary on here was that he couldn't motivate or fire the players up and that McClennan would be able to do that.....must be one hell of a motivating speech he gives before kick off huh.

I would wager that firing up sides in the NRL is overrated. Every now and then sure, it's needed. Cleary proved that.

And incidentally, I think anyone could get a glimpse into what the Warriors have to deal with in Inu by following him on Twitter.
