i'm betting the roosters could have been out on the piss the night before and they still would have beaten us

Why? Because I as a fan, like many others still feel retched after that game last night. They should have been out supporting the lower grades who year after year actually make Grand Finals. They might actually learn something. Its almost part of the culture now. Sure show up and do f**k all on the field, here is your huge pay packet, go and blow it on booze at the races. Its probably still anger that is writing this but geez, I just wanna see our club get some solidarity about it.

*I think I miss read your quote Parra-matters. Im not sure if you are agreeing with me or not *

I think there is too big of a division in our club between the older guys and the younger guys......

This needs to be addressed asap

Completely agree...there were some quality forwards on the market, even one of them would do...but instead we over-upgrade our juniors and sign an average half to a long term deal. I just don't understand what the club is trying to do
Is it just me or am I am back in the early 90's...

Did anyone else see on the 9 converage last night they showed footage of our warmup? The boys were basically running in a line of 3 doing short sharp little passes , simple drill & Cayless put the ball down cold.

Way to lead by example captain. Its a little thing but another 1%'er. Short, sharp crisp warm up & the captains got nothing. Gotta laugh!

You'd be surprised how many teams stuff it up as a warm up, as simple as it is

My team scrapped it, simply because it wasn't serving any purpose in preparation for the game

 at picking up on a warmup.....Bloody hell, Cayless may not be in the best of form, but using a warm up that serves no other purpose but to loosen the muscles to pick on the bloke is bordering on stupid

I have given it to MITS, but he does not deserve this. The creator of this thread is misguided, MITS and Stagger are not Fitzy fans from what I can recall. They have both in the past stated that he has been here too long. If anything MITS and Stagger are maybe a tad more tolerant and patient then the average psycho like me. That is their only crime.

I think that this is probably much closer to the truth. Especially in Stagger's case. But the problem is that even a little support or benefit of the doubt given to the management or coaching staff, when our team has been playing like they have, is sooooooooo annoying to the ones amongst us that have had a gut full of excuses for 22 failed seasons from the club.

It just takes some longer then others to smell the sh*t. Hey, I mean there are some who still think that Australia is the lucky country...but that is a whole other story. ;-)

I managed to steal it after the game. It has two pages, and says this;

IN OUR HALF
Play 1-Dummy half run
Play 2-Dummy half run
Play 3-One out hitup
Play 4-One out hitup
Play 5-Kick. Never mind where, just kick

IN THEIR HALF
Play 1-Inside ball
Play 2-Inside ball
Play 3-Haven't you dropped it yet? Oh well, inside ball
Play 4-Jeez, we're doing well now. Inside ball
Play 5-Wait...we got to the fifth? Oh sh*t, do something quick! Bomb
It would be funny if it wasn't true, we are a joke and every other team knows it .

That sort of stuff just baffles me. :?
These are NRL (APPARANTLY) standard players.

Are we doing skills training?
Are we doing defensive training?
Are we doing ball skills?
Are we doing the basics at training?
Are we f**king doing anything at all at training?

That sort of stuff is schoolboy sh*t, and what worries me is that it isn't being addressed in the appropriate fashion.
The players aren't earning what they are being paid.
Are the coaches?

Suity
By the looks the answer is no to all those points.

Yeah because Stagger and I haven't gone through those 22 years also. Nah we only jumped on board recently

No Matter what we do, or say now, we as supporters or Fans of the club can only have a limited input into the club. We have our Players for the year, we have our coach. So we are going to have to stick by them this year. If that means another failed year then we are going to have to suffer through it, because our course is set. Our course doesn't have to be for next year but it may be shaping up that way as well. It is a frustrating thing. We put our faith in the clubs staff to bring us the premiership our club desires. They put their faith in the players, then we see the soulless 2nd half performance in last weeks game.

Now some have said to me, our attack looked Terrible in the first half, we had no shape we were not running lines. Quite Frankly I don't care about that. What I cared about was our Defensive effort, which starting from Anasta's try started to fade and looked limp when Ben Smith Hobbled off.

What happened to the Eels that used to single out their man. Each one of the pointing at the man they were going to take.

What happened to the Eels that used to Run up in one line and attack with our own defense.

I remember times when the opposition would make a mistake, in fielding our kick and be trapped in the 10, we would then work hard for 5 tackles to make sure they didn't get past the 30 before their kick. We never gave up easy metres. Now if we fix our defense we can start to be "in" games with a shot. If that means relying on some ad-lib football for points then so be it, but lets not be ad-lib in defense.

Let us attack with our defense, and maybe just maybe we as fans might see something that we want to see. A Team that shows some sort of Pride in the Colours and the Logo. Some one that shows the same sort of Pride for the Colours and the Logo that I do. That is all we can do at the moment, hope for our clubs players to show some mental toughness and some fire in the belly or else this is going to turn in to 2004 real quick.

I don't know for sure so just a guess, but Micheal Hagan seems to be what happened, or at least David Fairleigh, isn't he the defensive coach.

Those two are not in their first year. They got us within a gnat's nut of beating Storm last year.

Time for the players to put their hands up or the coach to drop a few.

That is the disapointing thing. Hagan is evasive in this area. He admitted himself that when Johns was running riot on the goey he did not have the courage to drop him from first grade.

This is a concern. Hagan is no disciplinarian and our players are notorious for taking the piss and switching off.

Thats great they got us there last year, so what are they doing this year?

The players obviously have a lot to answer for, so who makes them answer? The coaching staff. They had it to easy in the off season, they look unfit, slow and uninterested, if it is not the coaches job to help the players sought those problems out, than who's f**king job is it.

Oh not Fairleigh's or Hagans cause they had a succsessful season last year.:sarcasm:

But that is what everyone wanted, someone who is laid back and can get on with the Players, and make sure the players are relaxed because they were being "Hassled" out to much and had too many "Rules" imposed on them.

With your notion of Daniel Anderson for the Roll of Coach. I wonder what the feedback would have been from the Fans. Was there a fear that if we signed Taylor or Anderson, that they would be seen as a continuation of the Brian Smith Era, as they both trained under him.
