It annoys me when players leave Rugby League - but it doesn't bother me when they return. It just confirms what we all know - that Rugby League is the best sport to play.

I think folau is the most likely to come back as he will likely fail pretty hard. I dont know if the other 2 will come back as they are elite athletes and could probably play 3 or 4 sports professionally and ours will be the least paying

Hun'ts next contract offer in AFL would be in the order a low range player $200 to $300 K or so, he would get potentially double that in League, he will back for sure I reckon.

As for Sonny, we he really want to hang around for another 4 years to play 5 mins of the Cup final again??

With the new TV deal and cap increase I think all three will be back.

I could at least support him if he would admit it was for the money (he probably has a family who he can help with the money so i can't blame him).

However it's the ones who want to go to the biggest bidder, sh*t on our sport (and the one they grew up with) and then want us to think it had nothing to do with money.

Folau chased the dollar in AFL, and he'd probably admit it too. He'll be back before his AFL contract ends, when they've milked him for everything he's worth.

cutie's name says it all, all he cares about is his bank account. In his year between NRL and AFL he played French Rugby, if he was serious about the challenge like he said he'd have spent it learning the game. He may return when his AFL contract is over, but I'm not sure.

SBW is a dog of the highest order. Who walks on their team mates, skips the country and throws their coach under the bus in all of it? Another one who chased the dollar but won't admit it, but listening to him in interviews he'd give Watmough a run for his money in the dumbest player ever competition.

This. Rogers came back and did good things with the Titans. Sailor came back and eventually went OK on the Dragons wing, although I wish he left his f*cking ego back in Union. I guess coming back does confirm where the best sport is.

The risk, though, is severing ties with the League old boys body which is built on respect and service, like any network. That is the big thing in sport, being part of the inner sanctum of something. The same happens with players playing for 3 or 4 clubs, post career they are not as likely to get a gig with their club in another role as the 200+ game hero.

As for ditching my club for buying players, I lived under the Fitzgerald years at Parra. We hoped for Gene Miles, got Stu Galbraith. We hoped for Ricky Stuart, got Ben Kusto. We hoped for Beaver Menzies, kept Daniel Wagon. We replaced Mick Cronin with Ken "Snail" Woolfe. We rewarded Brian Smith for losing the unlosable grand final with a 5 year contract. We almost saw Brett Kenny poched by Alan Jones ffs. Not to mention big buys like Tulsen Tollet, Carl Webb, and Chris f*cking Walker!

In other words, if someone dug up the Queen Mother's carcase and signed it to a 3 year deal, it would be an improvement!

Funny seeing fans who support ARL clubs who reneged on "loyalty agreements" whinging about the lack of loyalty shown by players.

Any ideas of loyalty died when the ARL clubs bailed out to Super League. The last straw was clubs accepting sfa cash to merge in the knowledge that doing so would see other 'loyal' clubs excluded from the comp. Treachery saw the Bears disappear and Souths excluded only to fight their way back in.

Why expect more from the players that you do from the clubs and people that are responsible for running the game? It is hypocritical to have these expectations.

Bunch of merkins the lot of them, but I'd still like to see them return. The best players should be in the NRL, and can you imagine the publicity and outrage if $BW returns to play against the Dogs?

Huge crowds at ANZ for sure.

Parra - you confuse a fight for survival with loyalty. A persons first loyalty is to themselves - same with a club.

I am sure Folau's choice wasn't between AFL and death you idiot!

I think there is qa hidden question here with has needed to be asked for years, but has not beenn tackled: How come the Broncos seem to be the capital of the turncoats? Sailor, Tequiri, Barnes, Folau, cutie. No other club has that record. Why?

I don't see any problem with players taking the dollars to switch codes. As far as i am concerned these guys are only athletes for a short time, so if they are good enough to be offerred the cash and choose to take it, so be it. My only issue would be how they go about it and Sonny Bill wns the dickhead award hands down. What he did to the dogs and his team mates, not to mention RL in general, was a disgrace.

By the way loudy, loved your earlier post about the players wanted and those parra got. had a good laugh but in all seriousness, thats a pretty sad set of facts.

i have a problem with grubs like Folau and cutie as without RL they would not be where they are now

so then they take the money and actively encourage kids not to play the game that gave them everything

they should never be allowed back if that's how they work

Tell that to Souths and Norths idiot.

That's off the top of my head. Just remembered where we told Yow Yeh that he'd never make first grade. I remember hearing a rumour that we botched up a deal that would have delivered us a very young Bradley Clyde. We also chased Sironen hard in his twilight years, ended up with Cameron Blair. Not to mention a certain Wenty junior that ended up the Sharkeis captain and currently the best forward in the world.

What doesnt kill you makes you stronger............................#-o

Over the years of players goin back n forth between different codes, it seems only recently that people are bitchin and moaning about a certain 3 players ever coming back - Sonny Bill Williams, Karmichael Hunt and Israel Folau.

I dont remember anyone complaining as much about Wendell Sailor, Lote Tuqiri and Mat Rogers as much as the above 3.

I do.
