So an offload only counts when it goes to someone in a better position ... Crap ! .. they give an offload to a guy who whilst being tackled passes the ball to another player, regardless of whether he is in a better position.

Once again I get back to my original Sullivan is a hog post ...

Do u have stats on how many times Sullivan "offloads" within 10 metres of the try line .. and how many times he trys to get over himself.

They don't keep stats like that do they ... just the meaningless ones that people like to trot out when it suits them.

OK Surely take some deep breaths now.
Your understanding of the Stats is obviously very limited.
there are exact rules which are adhered to when doing the games.
I just stated one of the rules & you say "crap"
Each weekend the Stats are done live & posted.
Each Monday the games are reviewed by a team of stats guys. Adjustments are posted.
They have strict rules for each type of data field.
I don't mind if you argue a point but if you want to say "crap" about something you know nothing about, well it's indicative of your level of knowledgeon the game.

FTR
NRL .com has severely lifted their game in regards to Stats accuracy.
The records are all being updated now after the games have been passed 2 more times on the Mondays.
e.g nathan Merrit is now listed correctly as 3 missed tackles in the Canberra match
& Vagana as 6 instead of 4 against Penrith.

surely surelys (i always wanted to do that) point about the limitations of statistics is valid reefy

stats do not tell things like quality only quantity

and as simmons misses less tackles than peachey he is a better defensive fullback

this of course is rubbish

but is illustrative of the dangers of relying on stats alone for form guide

Agreed.
Stats should never be used soley & I reckon never have been.

But you still haven't answered my request for opinion on Kimmorleys defense.

i think kimmorleys defence is his weakest element

i do beleive he more than makes up for it in other aspects of play

i dont hold the same opinion of sullivan - weak defence not supported by level of attack

and i do think kimmorley has a much better technique at preventing offloads which is more of a problem for sullivan than actual misses

by the way i am not a fan of peacheys defence either

and defence is a problem for the sharks

Would you think that after another 150 games of first grade Sullys defense will have improved? Especially in the area of preventing offloads?
& I will make the question easier.

Kimmorleys defense is

Poor
average
Good

after 150 games one would hope so

its not promising at this stage though

kimmorleys defence?

average for a halfback

I would say poor is the correct rating of Noddys defense in comparison to all other halves in the comp ATM. Bottom 3.

& Sully is at game 35 in his NRL career
BK is at 187

& seeing he is on par with kimmorley already, 150 games should see him remedy any technique issues
A good does of roids will also see him grow 10cm & put on 35 kg.

you may be right about sullivan and he may become the next daly m reefy

i am commenting on what is before us today not on wishful thinking of "what ifs" and "if only's" in years to come
