he wasnt really.
he wanted more money...we had already signed topou, barrett on big money with a look to go into the next year with toops, baz, gallen, bird, ross.

Which was stupid.

So it ok to displace 30 paying season seat members stevie?

i didnt say that at all. i said it could have been handled better thats all. anyway, its in the past, there is no need to argue about it. i know quite a few of those that were displaced, they were upset at the time, all justified, but they have moved on and are happy where they sit now. i cant speak for the others though.

whats done is done. mistakes are made all the time by everyone. its how you move on and learn from those mistakes that matters most, which im sure the club has.

So that's why te cssc probably get a bad rap. I like them. I'm just saying it's not a good look on the clubs behalf given where DI started. Gives a jobs for the boys vibe.

from my recollection, there were about 20 or 30 people with season tickets that sat in that bay anyway. looks real good on tele when its empty every week, i had tickets in bay 10 right next door to the bay in question. there was lucky to be 30 people in it every week, then they sold the tickets to away supporters to fill the bay up. probably could have been handled better, but no fault of the cssc.

Absolute farging bullshyte!

Who's fault was it then in your eyes?

Absolute farging bullshyte!

knew it wouldnt take long for you to pop up in the convo. but ill answer your question anyway.

it was a former employee of the club who decided it would be a good idea if the cssc would move from the corner into those bays. the cssc was assured that the moving parties were happy to move to make way for the cssc, so the cssc went with it going on what they we were told. now i know you come back with "bullshyte!" but, that is the truth, and believe what you want.

so to answer your question, i would say that it was the former employees fault. and im not going to name the said person before you ask. as i said, it could have been handled better all around, but whats done is done. you can hold your grudges against the cssc forever, thats your choice. but anyone with any sort of clue will know that you will shoot the cssc down at every chance, and that is fine by me, i dont care what you say really. i will read what you say and choose to believe it not. i like the cssc, they are trying to do good things for the club. everyone supports the club in their own way.

im not going to get in a slanging match with you in regards to the cssc because you cannot have that type of conversation without having your hatred clouding your judgment.

Which was stupid.

no it wasnt at the time.

when they were signed..mid 2008 ricky had a plan. the dominance grind plan. these were players he wanted to execute this.

however..we lost a key asset un expectedly in exceptional circumstances (bird)
he also lost depth the likes of nutley, peek, ross from game 1 in 2009.

brett seymour went off the rails. the fullback didnt play either after round 1.

combined with ricky's lack of adaption to the rule changes and the swing away from the ground and pound stile that manly, melbourne and cronulla executed so well the season before.

they werent bad signings at the time they were signed.

as for the gleeclub.

they are sharks fans. so they are good. and if i was running the stadium they would be smack bang in the middle as they are the most vocal and visible fan presence we have, they also fill that part of the concourse.

then again i would actually move all the season ticket holders to the main grand stands, keep the concourse and all standing areas as general admin. 20 bucks. you can sit or stand, do what ya like.

knock down the dumb ugly fence that blocks the view..then you dont have to pay for those ushers.

theres also a tree inside the ground that needs booting.

Agree with all of this. Most stadiums needs to rethink their GA situation. Places like Penrith and Parramatta often have big gaps in between the season ticket holders and the GA fans behind the post because no one wants to fork out $30+ for mediocre reserved seats that aren't that good anyway. Sell according to demand ffs

the knights offered him a good contract

then it all went to shit for the sharks

Yeah that's my memory of it too. There were calls galore on this forum to re sign him but he was offered a better deal at Newy. We then had no choice but to sign a hooker and Corey was available for one last season.

I worry about Degwah's injuries though. It's his nuts isn't it?

I was unhappy at the time as I was moved, but it's all good now I like my new seats and I am still a member of the cssc

RCB - Seymour was always a five eigth, by signing Barrett you effectively had to play Seymour out of position.

Tupou was one of the most overated players in the game and would be if he received as much attention - he was a waste of money.

You really missed De Gois, getting rid of a hooker and signing up two expensive players who added little to no value was very silly.

Of course I don't blame them solely for 2009 - s**t really hit the fan for you guys that season. I'm just saying signings like that didn't help matters and he should have been retained.
