Crazy game! Manning's INT are piling on and one would have to think the win is all that kept the team from having serious questions about benching him. That aside, they are asking too much of him as Kubiak said so after the game. The run game got going today (Browns are 31st ranked rush defence) and they are committed to running so why did they spend most of the game calling pass plays on 3rd + 2 and 2nd + 5. Only on that final game winning drive did they seem to learn.

Looking to the Packers the OL needs to find a way to like that against better opposition and Manning desperately needs a 3rd and 4th target. Thomas and Sanders were targeted on 28 of 48 pass plays. The coaches today finally realized the TE's are a black hole (although Manning hit Daniels on a few boot plays) but someone has to step up and give Manning someone else to throw to or he will continue to struggle. Fowler has shown he has Manning's confidence but he barely played today. Latimer and Norwood both ran the wrong route on separate 3rd downs.

Can't think of any other TE options out there except Vernon Davis who is probably too injury prone to be worth the $. They are terrible in the red zone. If they could just convert then they would have a few blowout wins by now and Manning's numbers suddenly would look decent.

Goes without saying that DT needs to stop leading the NFL in drops. He catches that one with 90 secs or so to go and the game is basically over barring a major mistake.

Oh yeah, the defence is amazing! You lose Ware and Ray and Shaq Barrett dominates!
Summed it up pretty well, still cant believe how good Barrett was/has been, dominant.

UDFA less than 2 years ago, PS last year & looks amazing as a starter this year.

His line from his 1st NFL start

9 Tackles, 6 Solo
3 Tackles for loss
1.5 Sacks
2 QB hits
1 Pass Deflection
1 Forced Fumble
1 Fumble Recovery

& his run D was outstanding as well.

Wade Phillips has done an amazing job...so far! I love an aggressive D and it is purpose built for guys like Ware, Miller and especially T J Ward, who is a certainty to go to the pro bowl. Realistically, Denver could have six guys go to the pro bowl. Ware, Miller, Ward, Talib, Harris and maybe one of the LB's like Marshall.

Barrett may get a look as player of the week.

If anyone wants to hear some great discussion about Manning and the offence check out hour two especially and three as well of the Fan Morning Show this morning. I really don't find much point in listening to radio shows these days that don't feature anyone that has played.

http://www.1043thefan.com/fanpodcast/

Joel Dreessen is a host and in the third hour Plummer comes on for his regular weekly segment. I like iTunes podcasts better as you can listen at 1.5 speed FYI.

The Broncos just acquired Vernon Davis from San Fran for a sixth and seventh rounder.

Woohoo baby!

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 1h Here's the actual deal: SF is trading Vernon Davis and a 2016 7th-round pick to Denver for a 6th in 2016 and a 6th in 2017, per sources.

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 1h
So just to be clear in Vernon Davis trade: SF and Denver swapping 6th and 7th round picks in 2016, and 49ers get Denver's 6th in 2017.

He ain't what he used to be fellas but I'm sure he can contribute

Low risk and potentially massive upside.

It's been pretty well documented that Davis has wanted out since around '13. Broncos have had issues in pass protection in many games this season, he will at least provide that. The fact that he is also a pretty good receiving option should help open up the run game a bit more.

Davis has been terrible since 2013 - https://www.profootballfocus.com/bl...-theyre-getting-2013-version-of-vernon-davis/

But I agree it's a low risk move and I have no doubt that he'll perform better now that he's on a decent team

It's worth noting though that Davis has been causing issues in the locker room for a little while now and he's also pretty self obsessed these days

Wouldn't be the only one in that locker room based on the way they've played for the last 2 years. I'm sure based on the last 2 years most 49ers fans are happy to see the back of him, most Broncos fans on the flipside are stoked about the trade, considering if things continue the way they are this season they'll lose less than 10 spots in round 6-7 for the draft and then a round 6 pick in 2017, which is basically nothing. Especially considering how good Elway has been in identifying players in FA. If Davis doesn't work out, they basically lose nothing in 2017.

It'd be good to see if they hopefully land a 3rd WR option in the next 24 hours as well.

It's a lot tougher to have a negative impact in a winning locker room over a losing one. 49ers are a shambles, I'm sure most players are pissed off.

I agree about this season, but he was terrible in last season also while Harbaugh was still there and there were grumblings about his attitude and focus.

Like I said it's a good move, low risk. But this isn't the same player he once was and he's now very much focused on his brand and personal pursuits (check out his FB page) as opposed to running through brick walls for his team

The chance to win a SB and play with a HOF calibre QB might change his mindset a little. ;-)

9ers were poor under Harbaugh as well last year. Kaep is just too inconsistent and they aren't even close to the same roster they had when they were in the superbowl.

As legend said, a TE playing behind a HOF QB tends to change a players outlook. I wouldn't even say Davis was at his best 3 years ago, he looked better with Alex Smith. 49ers have so many issues right now, that you take any perceived issues with a given player with a grain of salt.

Broncos are a great team right now, slot in a player who you know has the skills, and you'll likely get the best out of them.

ATM, The top three AFC teams are the top three teams in the NFL and Denver has to play the other two so the outcomes will tell us a lot about each team.

ATM, I would rank them as follows:

NE
Denver
Cincy
Carolina
Arizona
Green Bay

Minnesota
Pittsburgh
The rest...

Don't think VD turns Denver to Super Bowl winners, nothing else really matters.

I think it is huge assuming he stays healthy. The Broncos clearly looked better last night in 2 TE sets and giving Manning back some control. Kubiak basically said they have been reluctant to run two TE as much as they would have liked early in the season as they didn't have a third TE they trusted. Now they have three and can try and create some match up problems such as those NE thrives upon at the moment.

Good to get back in the win column :)

Brock was very good, poised, spread the ball around & didn't turn it over, couple of things to work on but nothing that cant be fixed imo. Also funny how now Latimer can play with Osweiler but not Manning who freezes him out, Vernon Davis was excellent as well hope it continues.

Running game looked a ton better with Osweiler under centre, Hillman in particular was a standout & would of had a TD if Oz didn't trip him up with on the goal line.

O-line was pretty poor overall imo

D did a good job considering refs were intent on helping the bears move the ball with some f**king farcical calls, the end score was closer than the game really was because of it.

Lastly the f**king refs were a joke ZERO penalties on the Bears the entire game, they ignored the late hit on Brock the would have ended the game & calling Roby for PI on the Bears potential game tying drive when Bennett tackled him are 2 of the worst calls that come to mind right now.

Elliott Harrison has the broncos fifth in his power rankings. Sounds about right to me. I quite enjoy his sense of humour.
