The fact that people are now suggesting that a new coach be sought is madness.

Unintelligent shit, actually.

No normal corporate entity, bar despot or seventh world countries would consider changing a leader based on six months of MIDDLING results.

Sure it's fun to be provocative, sure it's hard to see us lose.

I can only assume you have little life experience that you carry on this way.

If it's for fun, scribble on your toilet wall.
If you hate to see us lose, tell the Dragons Executive.

Posting juvenile ideas about changing coaches is like pissing your pants on purpose.

i know there'll be people who say they can see fault and that we need to take action, blah, blah, blah. It will seem reasonable to them and others.

I'm all for improvement and success.

It is, however, not always easy.

Despite what you think. It can be hard and take a long time.

Sometimes the path is disappointing, even more so when recently successful.

Learn to support, not drag down.

Very good post!

It seems that people just want a quick fix all the time "Sack him" "Drop him" "Play him here not there", build long-term I say It's like anything when someone starts a new job they are not always going to be perect straight away it takes time for them to get the hang of things and then hopefully build and improve each and everyday if no improvement is seen within a long period of time then move them on. Like everybody Price deserves a chance and despite contrary beliefs he has done some very good things.

i agree with you in part...replacing price is a little premature. i think the buck stops with the players. regardless of the training and game plans, it comes down to whether the players go out with the right energy and execute.

i think given our free fall from being a top four team, we have to give fans some leeway to vent their frustrations. dont forget, people cope differently to one another. so when someone is trying to rationalise why we are performing the way we are (be it blaming the coach...players...god..the media etc), theyre not making an assault on you :)

Its good that you have a view..but you dont really need to categorise the other views as unintelligent etc I may disagree too regarding questioning the coach, but we dont really need to cannibalize one another to get our point across.

We're becoming a little too sensitive/irritable on this forum during the period of downturn. lets not lose sight that we're still all fans of the same team! lol we want the dragons to win! so lighten up hehe

Since winning our '10 Premiership we have lost Boyd, Costigan, Gasnier, Saffy, Smith. He's inherited a handful of players in the twilight of their career in Cooper (33), Hornby (32), Fien (32) & Young (kneeless).

The first 3 come off-contract (and a safe bet retiring) at the end of 2013; so does Price.

The point I'm trying to make is I don't think he'll be given a fair chance to show he can coach. You don't lose those kinda players and go from the arguably the greatest coach in RL history to a rookie expect to play to the same standard.

Quote myself from a couple of posts down the page......

Quality assessment of the challenges facing Price GKD. Doust seems laid back enough not to put undue pressure on the young coach for results as proved by the Nathan Brown years.

So as fans we have a choice.

Do we whine, bitch and wail about every problem and let the cacophony of despair weigh heavily on Price and his team. Or do we act like SUPPORTERS, understand the difficulties facing the coach and encourage his efforts. To act like cry babies or man up and grow a set?

Would the dragon players and coach walking off the pitch and up the tunnel after a defeat be helped by booing and screams of derision or helped by a supportive clap and the understanding of the supporters

Me? I will keep the faith

I'm right behind Steve Price and I'm backing him to finish off this season strongly.
He'll surprise quite a few of the doubters out there.
The other clubs who are thinking we're a soft kill?
They're in for a shock as well......

Chelsea have set managers free often enough, if liverpool had not have assed hodgson after a short time they would have been relegated. There is nothing wrong with a quick turn around in coaches if there is no improvement insight. Coaches need to show willingness to change things up when things are going badly. They need ideas and to earn their money. Problem with price is I see the same shit week in week out.

Forget no pain no gain, if you can get somewhere without pain will you take that option? Everyday of the week. Instead our admin seems to love doing it the hard way. Example, never recruiting.

Price has the right breeding to be successful; he would have learned a lot from Bennett and we all can see he is dedicated an loyal to the club.

The problem is that he was handed a successful system to work with and instead of just changing things little by little, game by game, he made a decision to make some major changes that have failed to be successful.

Last game against Manly the brick wall was re-introduced and worked well for 70 minutes of the game. Hornby and Soward were switched back to their former sides of the field and the mistake free style of bringing the ball up through the forwards for the first 4 tackles was implemented but not executed well enogh.

So I can see that if things keep going along this track the Dragon's have a good chance of commanding the repect of opposing teams in future games. In my opinion all that needs to be done now is to sort out the hooker rotation between King and Rein, progressively bring on Kyle as Hornby's replacement and find a suitable right centre - C Stanley the most likely. It would also be good to see Price put Morris back to the left wing and promote Cummins, Goodwin or Lett to fullback.

I was actually one of his biggest fans and could not wait to see Pricey in charge but it is just the way he comes out after games after they have played so badly. People say Hasler's first year the team came 14th but I can guarantee you he did not go into post match interviews all positive and praised his side. He came out looking pi$$ed like he always does and that is what worries me with Price. If he is happy hw they are playing then it is a huge worry and the boys are not really reacting if he is blowing them up away from the media cause they are dishing out the same $hit the following week.

Price had a great record coming into this job but so did other coaches that were punted after a season as well. No coach gets a big gig without a good record prior to the big time.

If the Saints don't improve them he should be punted as the cattle he has are definately top 8 material.

So you want him punted because of how he fronts the media? Wow.

Price just spent three years under Bennett. Perhaps he has learnt to never let the media see what he's thinking.

I'll go with that one. What he says and what he does are two different things. I reckon the boys will come good. It will all click into place.

Just get them to watch the 2009 tries they scored. We were awesome then.

Yep you guessed it... Blah blah f**king blah.
It's one thing to be supportive. It's another to be weak.
We waited 30 years for ultimate success. The penny finally dropped. And now we have gone back to the dismal formula for failure. Makes very little sense and it's avoidable.
We should not be missing the finals. We just shouldn't. Simple as that.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But at the moment mine is based on fact as yours fantasy.

Hey BBC I heard that Greg Eastwood and Lote Tuquiri are unwanted at their present clubs. Do we want them? If the answer is yes, can you talk to the Dragon's coach?
