Good god...whoever's sig says "the goodbye and piss off Hagan show 2006 coming to a stadium near you" is right on the mark. I will just try to cringe and bear it until seasons end

I feel for Parra though - if they are this crap now, think of what they're going to be like after a year of Hagan!

Wooly and Tolar are mobile? Good one.

Yeah, I understand you all love seeing a new guy come through, but there's no real spot for him at the moment, you can't play 3 props off the bench in the modern game, its that simple (especially when the knights struggle for pace in the forwards anyway). The broncos found that out the hardway vs the cowboys.

Just saw Super-Coach (Hagan) on TV talking about the healthy situation at the club, and how Abes can't get out of premier league because of the present depth we have (gotta laugh at that, cause he is nowhere near ready) then he came out with "Had Tolar been fit, he would've probably found himself in premier league as well"

It's called 'spin' Tony!
He can't pick Tolar if he is not fit, so no good telling any of the starting side (especially through the media) that: "I wouldn't have picked you if I had a choice".
The motivational discussions would be one on one, & go along the lines of..there is a lot a competition for your spot...blah..blah.. blah.. need to see the best of you...sticking to the game plan etc
No coaches coach through the TV screen. (not even the bad ones):)

No I don't think so, it was a spontainious remark he made. As for who he replaces I would've thought Bailey would be the obvious one. Tolar in fact isn't that big a man. The Knights site have him at 98KG! Anyway the fact remains he has earnt a spot in the 17 with his performances this year, including being in front of Davico, Tanner, Bailey, and maybe even Wooly.

Bloody goose, Knights are unlucky too loose him my arse.

You can imagine the cricket scores we'd be getting flogged by without Joey.

He is in todays Herald (Hagan) saying his papers were marked before the season started etc etc, and that he was never going to be re-signed here. I really think Hages needs to stop making these statements and get on with it, all it will do is de-stabalise what is a great start for us.

I was about to come in here and blow up at Hages as well, that was until I had a look at the sides people were posting. I tend to agree that we probably don't need 3 props on the bench, the battle is between Davico, Perry and Tolar for two of the four required IMO. Personally I believe Perry is making more mistakes than the others but I will reserve my judgement till he has had a more recent game.

Hagans a knob, hes trying abit of spin here.

IIRC, the club hadn't done anything when Supercoach opened discussions with Parra, he then tried to strong arm the admin into making a quick decision because he had the Parra deal on the burner and wanted the best of both worlds.

He was the one that forced the clubs hand, not the other way around.

Now hes playing the victim, what a cat.

BTW, we are still short of a quality lock like BK in my opinion, Abes is the only one who comes close so we need him back ASAP.

Reynoldson is not a lock, hes got no offload and I don't recall him busting the first tackle ever, although I might be wrong.

The reality is that the club needs to keep blokes like Tolar interested because Smith is gone next year and hes the natural replacement, plus Davico is gone in 08 when we will need another prop.

We need to keep all the young blokes happy and firing.

There is no need to have 3 props on the bench. The props on performance this year are:

1. Smith
2. Woolnough
3. Perry
4. Tolar
5. Davico

However apart from the top 2 there is not much between the other 3 at the moment. Competition is good as it only enhances the team's performance and players should be picked based purely on form.

However, Hages doesn't play it that way where he has preconceived ideas on the relative merits of the players irrespective of form and selects sides accordingly.

You are quite right however the reality is that Hagan couldn't give a stuff about the knights in 07 and as such will not look after any of our younger players.

Supercoach is an idiot always has been always will be. The sooner he goes the better. However I don't think we need 3 props on the bench when we're at full strength.

8. Smith
9. Bedsy
10. Perry
11. Simmo
12. Newton
13. Abraham

14. Lowrie
15. Davico
16. Woolnough/Tolar
17. Brown

Thats what I'd go with.

Can someone please explain to me why 3 props on the bench is a bad idea?

Considering Perry could possibly have another brain-snap round about finals time and end up suspended again surely we'd be better placed bringing Tolar into the team now to get some more first grade experience under his belt should the afore event happen.

I have no problem with 3 props on the bench - just slot Woolnough in the second row and Bob's your uncle. It may not be ideal around finals time, when benchies with ball skills and pace are the ones that are going to break a game for you in the 75th minute, but until then why not play 3 on the bench when possible? Keep them all first grade hardened in case Davico breaks down, Perry gets suspended, etc, late in the season.

So you want to keep a PL prop in the side "just in case" Perry gets suspended later in the year... but you want to keep a back-rower who will definitely be there come finals time in PL?

Surely you jest? Woolnough has been average this year compared to Perry and Tolar. He'd be fourth on my list. When all are fit this season I'd probably say that Woolnough is the least valuable prop of those 5.

JM - which backrower are you talking about being in PL, I'm a bit lost?

Well you said we should have Tolar in the side to keep him experienced just in case Perry gets suspended, not because he was the best choice...meaning that he'd be taking up the spot of another player, presumably a back-rower.
