Did Jake Mamo deserve his punch?

In the Interstate grand final the other day, Jake Mamo acted like a complete pork chop.
For his trouble, he copped a big punch from his opposition. Did he deserve his whack?

Yeah he deserved a smack, from in front of him would have been the gentlemanly thing to do, though. It was a dog shot, plain and simple. 1 week suspension for it is a total joke. You've got a blind side king hit to the head get a week, whilst throwing a bottle at a bloke is worth 2 weeks... and if you brace yourself for impact and don't wrap your arms around the ball carrier you're risking months on the sideline. The NRL has nfi.

I cannot stand Jake Mamo but hitting the guy from behind was really weak and not the way you want to see someone get taken out. What I cannot believe is they reviewed the video and the guy who whacked him wasn't even spoken too.

From the font? Sure, go a head he was swinging them himself and deserved to get punched. But not to be collected from the side unexpectedly. Absolute merkin move. Knocked out, has no memory of the game, still feeling sick well after the game. No idea how the bloke could get a week for it.

based on some of the replies in this thread, jeeeezus Boyd is due for a massive pizzling some time soon. Maybe Sammy could come from the side & give it to him while at training.

Hodges also had one coming, guess he got off lightly, although Grothe Jnr gave him a pizzling, and from the front as well.
