Did Jake Mamo deserve his punch?

Nobody deserves to be hit in the head.

Wanker comments from LU 'tough guys' trying to sound tough. Instead sounding like ferals.

It is not ideal and McConnachie should have been sat down. But people do silly things when they have been pushed far enough. Mamo was looking for action and got more than he bargained for.

It's amusing to see Knights fans make out as if this was some kind of turning point, they were never in the match ffs.

Deserved to be laid out, didn't deserve to be decked from behind. Oh how I long for the days of on-field punch ups.

As someone said before, it's very difficult to feel sorry for him despite the fact he is clearly a victim in this instance.

Bloke should get 12 weeks, and should have been sent off. Unsurprisingly nothing happened as that would have hurt the feel good Ipswich story in jeapardy

Mamo should get 12 weeks for being Jake Mamo, won't be the last time he gets punched in his career which has barely begun.

Down by 8 and dominating possession and field position at that point. The try that sealed the game came against the run of play after Mamo went off....

Yeah, had no effect on the game at all

Jake Mamo played in a game with a washed up Chris Walker,i don't think we should be wasting time on people who play against a washed up Chris Walker

Can't believe this is even a question. Of course he didn't deserve it. You ever see a story on tv about a young bloke going out on the drink and getting king hit? Maybe he was being a smart ass aswell. Would he deserve a potentially fatal punch to the back of the head from someone he wasn't looking at? f**k no. The bloke should be sitting out for at least 16 weeks. Absolute dog act.

I've missed all the moments that has lead to his f**kwit reputation. What is he doing that is pissing people off so much?

This year we have seen shoulder charges to the chest, which weren't even shoulder charges they were guys turning to protect themselves, get two weeks. To the chest!
And you can dog shot a guy to the side of the head and get one?
All this talk of preventing concussions which is great, but Mamo got knocked out cold from a punch...
Very bizarre

 Please detail the injustice that McConnachie suffered at the hands of Mamo that lead to the king hit.

He's Josh Reynolds on meth.

Brilliant. Sprinkle in a bit of Ennis at his worst (I like Ennis these days), maybe a bit of Joey Leilua tough guy in there... also add in some Paul Carriage spastic play and you have Jake Mamo

Oh while we're at it, he's also shown attributes that a certain Isaac "Ill try break my cousins leg" Luke displayed at times throughout his career. Not to mention Jake Mamo has an extra chromosome.

If he goes on to play 100 first grade games I reckon he gets swung at in 50 of them.

Strange. He seemed a good player early on. Was wonder what was holding him back...
