Ivan surely must have his reasons. Martin may have been training a lot better than the others.
Having a Premiership ring, he knows the pressure of finals footy.
Let's hope he responds to the call.
Wai has been on fire since his 150th game, long may it continue.

We don't really know the specifics regarding Lance's contract, but I wonder whether his old man has a lot to say where Lance plays as in staying here in NZ?

I would like to see Lance Hohaia in a warriors no. 7 jersey next year but it aint gonna happen - so I wont be suprised if he in a tigers jersey or somewhere in the ESL next year.

It would make perfect sense for both parties so I hope the warriors.

I betcha he would be on some sort of "Kirk Reynoldson" contract dependent on how much he features in the NRL.

I dont think his old man gets paid. I think everybody wants lance to leave the warriors for greener pastures.

Stacey Jones retires with one year left at Catalans??? Now they need a quality half - No doubt I bet stacey has recommended his apprentice to take over.

Rex Hohaia is his manager. Whether he has a vested monetary reward or not, I'm certain Rex would be doing his best to look after lance's interests and being in NZ right now is obviously not the best decision one would make. Who knows whether Rex wants Lance to stay in NZ so that he is at "home" or whether Lance is a "home boy" and wants to stay here. I would take a leaf out of Vuna's book (Comics) and head to somewhere where at least you get an opportunity to play first grade.

Its definately the latter - there have been some good deals on the table the past few years including starting gigs at both the tigers and broncos.
Lance wanted to stay at warriors - but obviously its not a good move.
If he does go - I believe he will be the kiwis no. 7 at the world cup.

You didn't see any of the Lions games, when Hohaia was in the halves, did you?

You didnt know that for about three years running that the kiwi selectors have wanted Lance as their halfback.
His selection has been hampered mainly by injury aswell as his dropping.
Even the anzac test kiwi selectors wanted Hohaia to play half but he pulled out b'coz of an injury.

Hohaia didnt set the world on fire in P.L - for multiple reasons firstly he had been told he was viewed as a utility etc. Didnt have an off season in the position.
With a good offseason and a regular gig he will shine.

Plus currently who is his competition???
Smith - Wing coming to souths next year to play halfback. Not garunteed a position.
Roberts - again playing standoff plus not a coventional
Leulauai - only one with a regular halfback spot playing ok

He would almost win by default.

So, you are endorsing that the Kiwis selectors pick a guy who is playing terribly at halfback, in a premier league squad?

Hohaia shouldn't even appear on their radars this year. I was really disappointed with his form for the Lions. It made me more and more certain that he wasn't going to make it as a halfback.

I do think he has a future as a hooker or a centre. He has performed admirably in those positions before.

He's too small to be a decent centre. I've always been a hohaia fan...there's just something about him that i like. Wherever he decides to go i wish him the best.

Thats the team there.

OK. We have to win this.
We are going to have to dcomplete a lot of tackles in high heat.

I would rest Reuben for this game. Move Anderson into the run-on team and keep the bench as it is.

Whilst I respect Reuben tremendously he is on old legs. His last week stats of 19 tackles (2 misses) compares with Price 34, Rapira 32, Swann 38 and Luck 42. This is going to be a game for the fittest we have.

I think our defence is the best I have seen it but the Cowboys are still going to score points. Somewhere along the line we have to score more points than them and this was my reasoning for putting Hohaia in the centres ahead of Martin. But I can live with Cleary's decision in this regard.

I think this will be a close game. Our forwards should get on top and our halves have to get the back line moving.

Wadeo, cut the crap and get on with the job of scoring tries.

Go the Warriors!
