Discounted Tickets Online Fail

I'm going to be in Sydney in a while so I figured I'd take advantage of the 15% discount on tickets for non-ticketed members. Logged into the members section of the Eels website, went to the discounted tickets bit and clicked the Click Here for Discounted Tickets link, which took me through to Ticketek and I bought a couple of tickets.

Looking back though, I thought they were pretty expensive for discounted tickets, so I double checked the price without logging into Ticketek. Same price!

So I called the Parra office and she goes oh no, you can't buy them discounted on the web, you have to come here and we'll sort you out.

How about instead of a link on the webpage for discounted tickets you put that then. Jeez. It's only $8.50 or so saving for 2 tickets, but still, jeez.

yea dude.... This is not the help desk for www.parraeels.com.au.
If you had feedback, probably best to email the club instead of posting your complaint on an unrelated forum?

Being a non ticketed member discount isn't really worth it when you also have to pay the 5 dollar ticketek fee as you need to buy them at least 3 days prior right? So if you just want one ticket you end up paying more as you cant just rock up on the day to get the discount I don't think.

pretty f'n stupid to give you a ticketek link which isn't a discount :?

edit: are you sure you don't get a discount by going via that link? .... when i go there is says an adult Nth Terrace ticket is $14.45 ... I'm pretty sure they are normally about $17??? :-k .... but yeah having to pay a booking fee would totally undo any discount

Just line up out the front of the stadium, where there are 4000 people lining up for tickets, Im sure they will give you a discount.

Just double checked, the prices are the same. If you clear your cache and restart the browser, and don't login to Ticketek, they are still $14.45.

Coming from Melbourne it's nice to lock these things in. I know games don't sell out often, but still having a ticket beats lining up.

Point is, the web link should either work or state the truth of the situation. The ticketek fee I have to pay if I book online regardless. It's not a lot of money, but I paid $70 for the membership, the least they could do is not misrepresent what you get for it.

I have a feeling the discount is only available for the first couple of days of the presale.

Twizzle, at the very least the post serves as a caution to anybody else about to click that link though. I didn't know before today. If someone had posted it here, I probably would have.

I fail to see how this topic is unrelated for posting in a Parramatta Eels forum, that of which claims to be the biggest online forum for the Eels.

Additionally, couldn't see anywhere in the OP about asking for help. All up a worthwhile thread IMO.

I'm about 99.99% sure you got the 15% discount .... for a nth terrace ticket, $14.45 is an odd price and happens to be exactly 85% of $17

so I used IE to go to ticketek (I never use IE, always use firefox, so there would be no cached login/member# or anything) .... its telling me $17 for a nth terrace ticket ..... not sure what's going on, not sure how much you paid and where you are sitting, not sure why the person on the phone would have told you you have to go in to their office??? - but it seems you can get a 15% discount online

That's pretty f**ked up re the original post.

I think it's something that other fans should be warned about, and am glad the forum member thought to make a thread on here, rather than just keep it private in an email to the club. Power in numbers, forewarned is forearmed etc....

This is crap anyway. I bought tickets to the Storm game last night through that exact link. The tickets WERE 15% off as the link took you to a page using a code.

The end.

and for these reasons the thread hasn't been deleted although it has nothing to do with League Unlimited
