How's your obsession going Suitchild? Have you made any posts about the game tonight, or mainly just posts picking on your favourite fellow Eels fans here by way of "celebration"?

Drop the pettiness for once mate, and be happy :D.

If you can't be bothered ignoring me, then why be bothered posting to "play the person", rather than the issue being discussed?

If you want to fall in with those who spend more time picking fights with people on here, rather than discussing what's happening and enjoying the footy, then go right ahead mate. I won't remember your user name after I log out, sure as hell won't bring up whatever you say from different/old threads into a new discussion, and only reply to you if you quote me or respond to me like you did above.

Forget about the pettiness, and enjoy the win :D.

Oh dear

Well I'm trying to remain upbeat, however our recruitment for 2013 and therefore our ability to compete and get off the bottom of the table nest year looks poor.

The players that have been on the market and signed with other clubs so far are, Ryan Hinchcliffe, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Beau Scott, Tony Williams, Zeb Taia, James Segayaro, Lewis Brown, Sika Manu, Ben Te'o, Ed Pettyborne & Dave Taylor.

We have managed to get Darcy Lussick who at 19 FG games certainly has the build and potential to serve our club for many years. A good signing, however we need more. At this stage he will replace Hindy in the 17 and apart from a few at Wenty that might step up we'll be fielding the same squad come Rnd 1 in 2013.

Disappointing.

Who's left ? Well the quality signings are low in numbers. It's all well and good to have a policy of building a base for the future, but at this stage our squad is looking to be short price spooners for 2013. Hopefully Nolan has the Bart Cummings eye to pick a few bargain stallions from this years yearling sales.

Hookers

Chris Adams, Matt Ballin, Damien Cook, Glenn Dumbrell, Rory Kostjasyn, Kayne Lawton, Casey McGuire, Brendan McKinnon, Anthony Mitchell, John Morris, Aaron Payne, Pat Politoni, Joel Romelo, Nafe Seluini, Travis Waddell

Backrowers

Jason Annear, Luke Berkrey, Ethan Cook, Jamie Dowling, Dale Finucane, Dene Halatau, Dane Hogan, Blake Judd, Cody Nelson, Nathan Smith, Jack Spencer, David Stagg Mitch Achurch, Harlan Alaalatoa, Matt Bell, Scott Bolton, Anthony Cherrington, Michael Crocker, Sarafu Fatiaki, Marvin Filipo, Jake Foster, Mitchell Frei, Brendon Gibb, Chris Houston, Sebastine Ikahihifo, Jarrad Kennedy, Ethan Lowe, Todd Lowrie, Jake Marketo, Sam Martin, Tyson Martin, Rodney Mason, Willie Mason, Junior Moors, Kyle O'Donnell, Tyrone Peachey, Daniel Penese, Steve Rapira, Shane Shackleton, Shaun Spence, Ukuma Ta'ai, Jarrod Thompson, Ricky Thorby, Atelea Vea, Mark Wade, Sonny Bill Williams

Props

Sam Anderson, Neccrom Areaiiti, Shannon Boyd, George Burgess, Ray Cashmere, Josh Cordoba, James Cunningham, Mitchell Dodds, Joel Edwards, Richie Fa'aoso, Loui Fanene, Scott Geddes, David Gower, Michael Greenfield, Matt Groat, Luke Harlen, Callum Haywood, Michael Henderson, Sam Hoare, Mark Ioane, Mitchel Johnson, Jeremy Latimore, Daine Laurie, Brenton Lawrence, Issac Liu, Jaiman Lowe, Jon Mannah, Mose Masoe, Jordan McLean, Fuifui Moimoi, Bryan Norrie, Russell Packer, Luke Page, Junior Palau, Justin Poore, Matt Smith, Lama Tasi, Evarn Tuimavave, Paul Vaughan, Siosaia Vave, Jarrod Wallace, Matt White

Until the coaching situation is officially sorted out I really can't see us signing anyone else.

I'm surprised Lussick actually signed with us. Players and player managers aren't stupid, they know Kearney's living on borrowed time.

I can't see Jeremy Smith coming if Kearney gets the chop, that's why Hinchcliffe stayed at Storm and other potentials are probably waiting to see what happens after Origin also with whispers of Ricky to Parra getting louder....

If we resign poore and or Fui we are cover for props. We are a back rower or two short my pick from the list would be:
Chris Houston
Dene halatu
Dale finucare

How ever as most from the list are fringe players it is hard to judge. Nolan and Kearney have a big job

Also we might as well try to get one of the backs knights want to release in junior or Wes - losing Burt we lose some experience and we could one of these cheap. Also revenge to prove Wayne wrong could work to our advantage

I can't see him wanting to become unemployed. However if the new coach does not want Nolan on his staff then he would have to leave

I think the Broncos will have him back. I would have my money on him leaving.

I kinda agree with ya mate. I dont know where our next signing is coming from.

I definatley know that Nolan is doing is complete best to atract the players the coach wants but our position on the ladder and the fact that the coach could be shown the door leaves players in 2 minds so it's getting harder for him to do his job.

His junior retention of the kids coming through is great, making sure the guys who are showing signs they may go all the way are being tied up but as I mention when it comes to landing a big name signing, our club is not making it any easier for him.

I do 't know how he has been going at the knights and pretty sure he hasn't played firsts yet but Kyle O'Donnell tore us a new one for the sharks in Toyota cup last year. A ball running backrower which is just what we need. That is unless we have some of our own ready to step up soon

edit: think it was actually 2 years ago

Deadset, we'd need to commit the morons who run the club to an asylum if we let him go......He'd be unemployed for all of 2 minutes I reckon.....

Got to keep Nolan. Can't afford for him to go!! It will set us back even more.

Biggest dissapointment for me has been our inability to attract ANY current NZ internationals and anyone noteworthy from the Storm.

When SK signed on I think many of us thought this would be an added bonus and i'm sure the board expected us to pinch a few Kiwi's & Storm players.

JWH, Sika Manu, Adam Blair, Lewis Brown, Duffie, Cronk, Hinchcliffe, Bronson Harrison, SBW, Widdop all come to mind. There may be others I can't remember.

I'm not sure how many of these guys we actually approached but they have all been off-contract & signed elsewhere over the past 2 seasons.

To date we've got;

Billy Rogers & Kelly from the Storm and Ben Roberts who's not even a current NZ international.

Very, very dissapointing.

You can absolutely count on the broncos wanting him back. We need to keep Nolan at all costs but even he doesn't want to be associated with the worst team in the league. Unless there is a shining light somewhere, he will leave.

I don't think its about letting him go, its up to him.

If the board go back on their stated intent to allow the club to be rebuilt from the ground up, why would he want to stay and work for them?

If they keep sacking coaches he can't do his job. He may as well f**k off with Kearney.
