Thought it was a hip flexor.. but regardless.. that had nothing to do with anything.

Was just pointing out that we need some kicking options. Ben Rogers should be banned from ever kicking. Gidley should follow suit. Mullen.. needs to pull his finger out and start performing like he wants to lead a team. De Gois doesn't kick and Hilder in the last couple weeks has kicked better than Gidley or Rogers.

Hmm...going by the reports this week he needed some more work on that hip/quad of his (Scotty)

Anyway it has been well covered how poor we were by everyone else - but I wondered where this Roosters team came from. It was like we'd jumped in the time machine and headed back to the first half of 2008! I honestly thought they were pretty damn good tonight, really came out there and wanted it.

The other thing was that given the game plan/players attitude/whatever didn't happen...I don't think it was helpful that we were carrying two five-eighths and two fullbacks in our team tonight...

F***************************************************************k!!

We have dead-set GIVEN AWAY 6 competition points this year, against the roosters, tigers and parra. We seem to not ever be able to put a team away, ever! 3 games where we should smash the other team by 20 and we lose all three. Yet we can play well enough to beat the bulldogs without Gidley not to mention the Broncos, Titans and St George...

WTF is going on?!

Our annual late season fade has begun ladies and gentlemen, we will miss the 8 by 2 competition points like last year and once again we will sit in our living rooms when the finals start and point to those games against lower ranked sides and talk about "if only we had some guts"

What a waste of what was looking like a promising season. What a waste...

What a joke

Get rid of Smith and put Stone in charge for the rest of the year. If things improve keep him for next year if not then sign a different coach for next year.

This idea that Brian Smith has come along and rebuild us into a great team is a load of crap. If you actually look at the results we have been the worst team of the last three years. If all of this "rebuilding' was actually true then now is the time we would be seeing some results.

we have seemed to be on the right track a few times this year, but the amount of times our team fade is beyond on frustrating.

As a Parramatta fan, you guys are on the receiving end of what we dealt with for 10 years, lots of talk from a good theoritician, he is passionate about the game, but fails to deliver when the chips are down.

I have heard him speak many times, and you believe what he says, but gee he lets you down as a fan, and his failure to see out contracts just ticks me off. Wonder what the odds are of him doing 4 years at the Rorters.

His actions are very disappointing for someone who talks it up

The most interesting thing I noticed tonight came prior to the kickoff. At every home game this year, Brian Smith has been out on the ground with his team dressed in his suit overseeing the warm ups.

Tonight , he wasn't on the field at the warm ups for the first time all year. ( Smith was also on the field at the away game I went to in Melbourne in warm ups - giving advice to his halves especially. )

Tonight Rick Stone ran the warm ups alone.

Stone has also done the official video announcements of the team for the past two weeks, which he never did previously. There is also a rumour that Smith wanted him to do the post-match media conference after last week's loss to Manly, and had to be persuaded to do it himself.

Yep....disappointed beyond belief. Another chance to edge closer to the Top 4 and get our season back on track leading into the finals and we blew it.
Someone mentioned the other failures against the Tigers and Parra earlier in the year....but at least those games were close. Tonight they played with no passion and no intensity. It was like the win was a given, seeing as we were playing the 16th placed team. They didnt turn up with the right attitude and respect for their opposition and got spanked severely.
I think we will still make the 8, but only because Brisbane are worse than us, Souths have a shocking run home, and the Eels are to far back to make it (IMO). But then we will get demolished by the Dragons and that will be that. A season of great potential that severely underachieved.
What is worse is that I had to sit and watch the match tonight with an old mate I havent seen in years....who just happens to be a Roosters fan.

So do you want to tell me a team that has had worse results then us in the last three years?

I can think of one. Penrith, and thats debatable because they are currently above us on the ladder and look like making the 8 and we don't.

It could be worse.

Our young blokes are running out of steam at the end of the season, but Roosters fans now know that their team has been bludging all season - till it came time to play for something really important - contracts.

Frankly, I can't find a shred of respect for Brian Smith after the way he handled his decision to depart. It's fine for him to sign with another club, but another thing entirely to effectively end our season by announcing to the boys midway through the campaign that he'd rather be someplace else.

The Roosters and Smith should both be ashamed of their woeful handling of the situation. How can the players at the Knights expect to turn up and commit for a guy who didn't even have the decency to inform the players he was on his way out? It's despicable that they had to learn it from the Roosters.

You usually play footy for your team mates - I never once turned up to play for the Coach. I turned up and tried my guts out for the other 16 players/mates who I have been slogging it out on the training paddock and game field for the whole year. If the current guys wearing the red and blue can't do that then perhaps the new Coach should be given the licence for another cleanout!!!!!!!!!!!

I would just like to thank the Board and Steve Burraston for destroying three years worth of hard work, build up and patience shown by the players and coaching staff at the knights. You blokes really have no idea do you. Did you guys even ask to sit down with Smith and negotiate something when he asked to look at options? Your appauling lack of management is just out of this world.

How did you think the players were going to respond to this, CLEARLY they were playing for their coach who they believed in, like most good sides do and you go and ruin it all. I dont blame Smith one Iota, clearly with the ease in which he slipped his contract and the difficulty he had getting another longer term deal with the knights we didnt want him.
Exactly my thoughts mate, all the heartache of getting the Knights to where they are has all gone down the crapper, so in actual fact Smith has really achieved nothing.
