Do you remember that scene with Indiana in the refrigerator? It didn't make any sense, Stan.

I love the scene at the end, how the police ignores the fact Butters and Cartman took a Chinese restaurant hostage and celebrates that they got Lucas and Spielberg.

I know what it is. I saw it... I just refuse to acknowledge it. Dreadful, dreadful film. Saw it with a whole bunch of my friends and my best mate summed it up perfectly when he said "I feel like i've just been touched inappropriately..."

The worst part of that film was the monkeys and Shia LeBeouf.

In BTTF the time machine was originally a fridge. But they figured kids would try that shit for themselves so they reworked it. I think Spielberg came out and said Lucas really just had a mega hard on for a fridge appearing in one of his movies, so they compromised with crystall skull. That may be weird. But these guys also begrudgingly decided to cut the incest scenes from the original BTTF script when Marty makes out with his mum. Secret to hollywood success. Weird sexual hang ups.

This is a very good thing. The Star Wars universe in the hands of competent directors has a lot of potential.

Lucas can tell a good story and was a technical visionary, but a competent scriptwriter and director he is not.

He did a great job with the original Star Wars film...

The fella who wrote one (or more) of the Toy Story films and Little Miss Sun Shine has been hired to write episode seven. Looks like its happening wether we like it or not. Still, the less Lucas has to do with the screenplay the better....

You're mostly right, except that Lucas had nothing to do with the BTTF series.
It was all Spielberg.

That's been on the cards for a while if it is true.

He dropped out of the new X Men film pretty much as soon as Star Wars was announced.
Bryan Singer is doing the new X Men film, which is good because there is no way he can f**k up the Days of Future Past storyline the way that the Dark Phoenix storyline was f**ked beyond belief.

You're taking the piss yeah? Singer was responsible for the worst Superman movie since The Quest For Peace.

Unfortunately, when it comes to comic book movies nothing is safe from being butchered.

Vaughn was meant to do X3 as well but dropped out to do Layer Cake.

Was Singer always going to direct the new X men? I always thought it was Vaughn with Singer as exec producer.

Singer also did the first two X Men films which were received pretty well and he produced X Men: First Class which was probably the best of the lot. So it would seem that he has already achieved success with the franchise.

If the initial reports are to be believed then you are correct.

Brett Ratner's name is nowhere near the First Class sequel, so that's something to be happy about.
