Knightmare it's none of that, it's the way he gets louder and more strident as each replay shows his gripe to be wide of the mark. It comes across as pretty amateur.

He does that to create more drama. Same as when Benji/ Jarred Hayne scores a great try and he spends a whole minute doing no more than yelling "WOW! WOW! HOW DOES HE DO THAT? YOU CANNOT COACH THAT!" sounding as if he is about to have a heart attack.

Half those guys aren't on the air when 90% of the viewing audience is watching (i.e. during the game) and the other half have a grand total of 5mins airtime during the 80min of the match.

Look, Maroons fans can laugh about Big Game being from Kempsey and turn a blind eye to the QRL's exploiting of loopholes to boost their playing arsenal, and it concerns me that somebody like James McManus seemingly thinks the only way he could ever be a chance to play for Australia would be to play Origin.

But everytime Qld (succesfully) lures a Greg Inglis into their ranks or (unsuccesfully) tries to lure a Tom Leoroyd Lars to the Maroon cause, they are denying a born and bred Queenslander the chance to achieve his dream of running out in the Maroon jersey. It cheapens the cause. The QRL may argue that "We have less players to choose from than NSW so we should be allowed to draw from a wider area" but the fact is, if your own state can't produce enough quality players at a given period in time, tough.

Leave such artificial propping up of teams to the AFL...

Aren't these arguments a little last century? I mean really when the commentators cant even pronounce half the names on your average NFL pitch.

If he wants to pull on the Maroon, then what exactly is the problem? Where does this line of thinking end? James Tamou? Kevin Pieterson? Drew Mitchell?
