Thank you, i promised i wouldn't interact with Avenger anymore but it was driving me crazy as we usually start ordinary each year and have for most of this century........
If that’s driving you crazy you need to get out more or go back on the meds.

And we have started the season well plenty of times since we last won a comp. Don’t just take a point in time to suit your argument.

The teams that manage the speed of the 2021 game the best will be there when it counts. Burnout, (fatigue) and injuries especially after Origin will be a major factor come finals time. Players like Mahoney and JNR will be feeling the effects unless managed well by BA. Got to remember, players like Gutho had an extended season in covid 2020. I've watched a lot of 2021 games so far and the players are already looking worse for wear after only three rounds.

Not only have we been 'March premiers' (actually minor premiers) only once since our last premiership (incidentally, also a year we were first on the ladder at the end of March), but this year is only the third time (in 35 years) we've been top four at the end of March, with last year being the second time.

By comparison, the Storm have been in the top four at the end of March 12 times in the 24 seasons they've been in the comp:

Storm ladder position at the end of March:
1998: 4th
1999: 3rd
2000: 9th
2001: 12th
2002: 5th

2010: 3rd
2011: 7th
2012: 1st
2013: 1st
2014: 5th
2015: 7th
2016: 3rd
2017: 2nd
2018: 6th
2019: 1st
2020: 8th
2021: 10th

I think starting well is good.

Great effort mate. From 2002 onwards the average is actually high and I know that despite a promising start we missed out on playing finals in 03, 04, 10, 12 and 13. 2016
I won’t count because that was out of the coach’s hands. So in recent times, say 18 years ago we have promised so much early but not not only did we not win it but we didn’t contest the finals.

Are you looking at the storms position at the end of March? As 04, 10, 12 and 13 we weren’t even top 8 at the end of March

Only twice in 18 years have we been in the top 4 at the end of March
