Arthur's policy is to almost always choose a player with experience elsewhere rather than developed a player. The purchases of Oldfield, who has zero upside, and the like are a great example of how BA operates.

BA sees debuting inexperienced players may cost him short term, and that would put pressure on his contract. That's an extremely selfish policy to put oneself before the club's long term prospects.

Arthur in this instance is putting his income before development and its another reason the Devon eating dope must be axed immediately.
Lol Devon eating dope, used to have to eat it as a kid it was f**king shit. Like watching Parra try and attack to be fair.

You are forgetting we now have The Rouse Hill Rhinos to feed off.
If you know anything about junior clubs, they are pretty cyclical in getting players up to the senior club.

10/15 years ago , it was mainly Cabramatta and Mounties, then they seemed to come from Wenty and Hills District. It’s fanned out a bit recently, as the Rouse Hill team was only started about 10/12 years ago and their early teams and new players are now winning comps. Wenty still is deep in players coming through.

A number of Cabra and Mounties players attend Westfields Sports where Manly employ their football masters in their junior development so
we don’t see all of them.

Junior clubs do a lot of work with volunteers and unpaid coaches and don’t deserve smart ass remarks. If you can develop players and Spend time doing it, surprise me.

The Rhinos are a well run club and should be praised for developing decent players, not being subject to half assed remarks.

Settle Gretel. No disrespect intended to the Rhinos or your good self. It sounds like our Eels have got you on edge. Who could blame you.
My disrespect/smart arsed comment is aimed elsewhere. We know you love your junior footy and more power to you for that. Its obvious we need many more like minded people because way to many are slipping from our grasp. Allowing other clubs to set up in our junior catchment is disgraceful. Somebody was asleep at the wheel and Id guess its all happened within the past 10 years or so.
Hopefully a win over The Cows cheers everyone up a tad. At least Covid hasnt destroyed our footy season so thats a plus.

If he blooded a bunch of inexperienced players he’d get hammered when they inevitable found their feet and the results weren’t forthcoming.

You can add Keppie, Schuster, Ola’kamatu, Curran, Saab, Biondi Odo, and more from our system . Identification and retention is key, Roosters sign the better juniors from elsewhere and park them as say 29/30 or development so money is decent.
Robinson does that does he? Or does he maybe have someone else do it for him?

At what point did we let Schuster go? Players who can pass like he can are rare. How could we not see that?
How do you know we couldn't see it? Everyone can see when kids are dominating junior footy. There's up to a dozen NRL scouts at every game. They all make approaches to these kids. Somehow the Roosters are one of the top performing clubs in SG Ball and Flegg since long before Robinson got there. It's all about throwing the most money at 'junior development', which is as much about signing the best scouts and negotiators as it is about coaches and facilities.

Keppie, Schuster, Ola’kamatu, Curran, Saab, Biondi Odo, Matterson first time rnd, Alioi,

We've under BA watch lost 13 juniors who are playing NRL elsewhere while he has developed 3.

Look at Penrith. How many kids have they lost before atleast contributing a few seasons in the NRL? The ratio would be reversed.

This was an area that was meant to be fixed. It seems worse then ever. Constantly buying guys will never get you anywhere.

What a mess.
You reckon the Panthers spend much on 'junior development' or does it happen for free? What are their facilities like?

Except Russell and Penisini both got their debuts before Oldfield. Jake Arthur debuted before Rankin. Haze Dunster even got a few games while Ferguson sat in reserve grade.

Should we take out a restraining order? We can't stop them. Western Sydney is where the players are. If Penrith wasn't so far away they would be losing more of their kids too. Don't forget Suaali player his junior rep footy for Souths despite living in Mt Druitt.

That was only a feel good moment, as BA want to show his worth in development. Let's see if he makes them regulars
