If it’s a matter of opinion then you should be able to form your own opinion based on what you see instead of just blindly placing faith in people who might not be competent at their jobs right?Sure, but I also know even the experts can disagree on this sort of thing. They can't both be right. Ultimately it's just an opinion, subject to human irrationality. I've seen people decide competence based on nothing more than popularity ffs. In a lot of jobs it's very hard to prove causality and therefore competence, however it's also true in many jobs (including coaching) where popularity is a part of what makes someone competent.
