I think Brad has been a good coach for what was needed at the time, but I don't believe he is the coach that is needed now. The team has gone backwards in performance in the last 12 months. The coach hasn't been able to rectify it, and hasn't shown any propensity that he can rectify it.

He's done his job, now we need to move on and get someone else that can take the team forward. Different people are needed for different jobs. I suspect Wayne Bennett probably wouldn't have been able to get us to where we got to from where we started with Brad. But I'd be confident that Bennett would now get us further than we're going to go with Brad. I suspect that 95% of coaches, including all the assistants, in the NRL, could get this group of players to the second week of the finals. It's easy to get a team of pretty good players to play to the level where they should be (no less than Top 6). The hard job is improving shit clubs and turn them into not being shit. You'd never see Bennett (or even Fitzgibbon now) take on a shit club unless he was absolutely desperate. What have we got to lose by really signing someone else?

We need a f**ken change. I can't believe the entire world can't see that.

In all seriousness, people like Barrett, Seibold, Taylor, O'Brien and plenty of others would transform this side dramatically as at worse assistants. Don't underestimate how tactically inept our coaching staff actually are.

Coaches with high level tactical nous only really get to show their wares with decent outfits, where your just tweaking things that make a difference at the top. Coaches with tactically nous are wasted with teams lower down the ladder, as there is far too much you have to do just to get them to be competitive before that tacticial nous can come into play. Look at Seibold at Souths, Taylor here in 2006.

Robinson would be pretty useless in a poor outfit. I suspect so would Bellyache. Bennett has always had a decent quality of player to work with. Fitzgibbon knew this, I suspect Robbo knows he'd be pretty ordinary with a poor outfit (Lets see how Robbo goes with France) and encouraged Fitzy to pick and choose wisely, which is Fitzy's advice to Ciraldo.

Ciraldo would be interesting at a lower level club...Gus can whisper magic and make people believe anything, but I can see him crashing and burning very quickly, it's difficult to not at least seeing Parra improve defensively if he was the Head Coach though.
