On the YKTR Sports podcast this afternoon, Willie Mason and Justin Horo said there is no way the JA should be anywhere near NRL when you have Cartwright and Nathan Brown available. Said he is picked beyond his level and that the club should have always had an experienced 7 in Reggie’s, like OSullivan who the Riff signed as cover for Cleary.

It’s not a bad listen as they don’t have any agendas, they shoot striaght and today they were astounded at the number of games JA has played, that he should have played Flegg and then into Reggie’s, that was their experience coming through

How many reggie games were wasted for JA to not play so BA could sneak him on the bench for a 5 mins stints in first grade.

Starting to get the butterflies now. If we get the Storm next week, it wouldn't take a lot to put us out of our misery.

I hear you. I feel our ‘run’ with them is about to end. Plus we know they have it over us in semi final footy. Will be disappointing if we go out in straight sets.

The bench forward rotation as BA plays it the last two months is high risk... too few players playing too few minutes - it really relies on us getting to the front by 60mins, otherwise we're just gassed and no hope.

Back to the coaching podcasts BA, and see if you can find something different to try?

It’s not really astounding. It’s just NEPOTISM

f**king oath it is. It’s so obvious that the kid is not up to it and would not be playing first grade for any other NRL team. The fact that we have no backup other than him is a conspiracy in itself.

When he played his first game I thought we have a pretty decent backup waiting in the wings when Brown came back from suspension JA should have dropped back to Flegg and then worked his way up to Cup not playing first grade again until he was killing it. Not just because he was training the house down.

If Dad ever needed an excuse to drop... or not select... his son, this week he has it.

"Jake, I learned from our loss to Penrith that we need to go into a finals games with four forwards* on the bench. Sorry mate, you'll have to put the NRL dream away until next season, ok?"

(* = unless we have an actual first-grade worthy impact utility in the squad... which we don't, even after me being at the joint for 9 years.")
