We were a good team and with some luck we finally got into the grand final. The Cowboys being better (and less lucky) doesn't change that.
@Poupou Escobar is as bald as I expected.
They lost at home with more ball, they didn’t take their chances. I fail to see the were unlucky. Especially after they had a 2 week break when jagging an arsey win over the Sharks. We were a good team and with some luck we finally got into the grand final. It was f**king epic!Only Pou could downplay one of the most courageous wins Parra have produced in the 21st century.
I have the Cowboys victory above the Dragons 2009 ambush at Kogarah in my lifetime as the toughest and most brave performance I have seen Parra produce.
Especially that last 10 mins in defence and the fact they had to come from behind by more then a converted a try with 20 to go.
Throw in the hostile North QLD crowd and a GF appearance at stake the performance should go down in parramatta folklore even with the dissapointing GF performance.
Well they weren’t at their best. What else is that but bad luck? You can’t be up every week and that was their off week. Ours was a week later. They lost at home with more ball, they didn’t take their chances. I fail to see the were unlucky.
It was a great win but was either team at their best?Only Pou could downplay one of the most courageous wins Parra have produced in the 21st century.

It was.It was f**king epic!
I'm still not sure my heart could handle it.I actually watched a replay of it today ... it was awesome
Just being a realist mate. We conceded 20 points ffs. Hardly an epic performance. One of the finest backs to the walls wins in the clubs history and you are happy to downplay it lol.
Classic Pou.

Against a better team on their home ground where conditions favour them more than most. TBF the epic bit is the last 20 minutes, but they are more crucial than earlier periods because of the pressure. We killed it when it mattered.Just being a realist mate. We conceded 20 points ffs. f**king Debbie Downer merkin ffs!!Just being a realist mate. We conceded 20 points ffs. Hardly an epic performance.
Yeah it was an epic twenty minutes.Against a better team on their home ground where conditions favour them more than most. TBF the epic bit is the last 20 minutes, but they are more crucial than earlier periods because of the pressure. We killed it when it mattered.
And herein lies the problem of the sports fan with some casual knowledge of statistics, inferring random hypothetical claims and trying to pass them off as evidence based knowledge - all the while ignoring reality and evidence, in the form of the actual game that was played.Of course they were good enough. They proved it all year. If we played that game another nine times they might’ve won seven of them.
I’m not ignoring the game. I saw it too. The point is it wasn’t the only possible outcome. And herein lies the problem of the sports fan with some casual knowledge of statistics, inferring random hypothetical claims and trying to pass them off as evidence based knowledge - all the while ignoring reality and evidence, in the form of the actual game that was played.
But that's a truism, meaningless or moot point... Surely in the context of the discssion, the fact that our win over the Cowboys in the PF was the outcome that took place should receive higher weighting than dismissal as being just one of the set of all possible outcomes?I’m not ignoring the game. I saw it too. The point is it wasn’t the only possible outcome.
