Well he is. His beef is that that we sacked the coach and had to pay him out for the rest of his contract.

So what he is saying that the Chairman should have a) NOT taken up his option immediately after the 2022 GF, b) taken up the option but somehow convinced him that a payout clause where he gets f**k all if sacked is a good idea or c) not sacked him at all to save the $1.5m.

If you listen to the audio, Hadley has a sandy vag because he demanded a meeting with the Chairman and was told to jam it. Frankly, Hadley has been Fitzy’s messenger and agitator for 20 years and he is the last person anyone from the Eels should give 5 minutes of their day to.

Agree wholeheartedly.

Hadley is a goose and a mouthpiece for Fitzy's agenda. Make no mistake, Fitzy has long wanted back in and Hadley is certainly his chief agitator.

As for the payout, reports vary, but I'm given to understand that it is closer to $700,000 and that there were proper contractual protections that limited it to this amount. Either way, payouts are a reasonable commercial reality and an expected price of this business - Hadley attacking that is just him clutching at straws.

Having long called for BA's sacking i am impressed by the board's decisiveness in this regard. Whether we get Bennett or not (extremely unlikely) I can't help but think they have a plan and I am excited to see what it is.

I genuinely think we need some change, but not a complete overhaul and I think those changes are just this:

1) new young blood in the back row and from row - just one each to supplement what we have until Reg and Paulo go (and then take over) - I'm thinking Guymer for one and probably Tuavaiti but not yet ready so maybe a purchase;

2) A proper first grade hooker that isn't a stop gap biding time for Boods - we don't need to chase Harry Grant, but something halfway between him and Lussick wouldn't be so bad - maybe Tom Starling or Jayden Berrell or Sommerton from Penrith?

3) A serviceable winger - a young, hungry bastard with speed! Maybe Stonestreet or one of the sharks or roosters biding their time behind a stacked roster?

I don't think BA was capable of these changes (particularly the hooker) so i am excited to see what happens in the next few months, especially if we can overhaul our recruitment process as well to be more nimble and astute.

We are absolutely certain of one thing - Brad Arthur is no longer coach of the Parramatta Eels. And that decision was made by the people in the club with the power to make that decision. That makes the decision inherently correct. Therefore, we are certain that sacking Arthur was the right thing to do.
Yes we can all agree the club did the right thing!!

Hadley's a wanker why worry about what he says and posting it.

He hates the fact everyone sees him as a closet Parramatta fan because its the actual truth.

How many times has he specifically rang up other programs on 2GB blowing up demanding sackings of the board & BA in the past 4 years. You don't see him blowing up about the other clubs as much as he does about Parramatta.

That sixties guy, lol, is such a BA nut hugger more than a Parra lover.

He says lol, "what we have to trust is that the people who are charged with making decisions at our club know more than what we do"

Is Pou sixties?

It isn't the coach that misses tackles, drops balls and throws bad passes. Until the players are accountable it wouldn't matter even if Jack Gibson rose from the dead.
They know they are safe, due to club having the player depth of a puddle after a sun shower.

I think you need to avoid quoting out of context, just to get likes.

The context is (paraphrasing) - I hope that they just don't stop at sacking the coach and think that that is the silver bullet for success, because there is a heap of change that needs to occur all they way down from junior development and recruitment all the way up to the top 30 squad.

Tell me if I am wrong.

I often wonder why the club recruitment manager Brad Gordon , seemingly gets a free pass from most.

WTF is Brad Gordon.

No one would have a clue who he is.

He means Ben Rogers, but Glenn's point is valid. Some merkins with significant roles fly under the radar, yet people who have zero impact in the scheme of things, like Steve Murphy, cop it deluxe on here.

Did he call out Souths when they paid out Demetriou

I agree Ben Rogers has NFI. We have had an issue constantly for 20-25 years identifying talent from a young age and nurturing them into first graders. With recruiters before him as well.

I found it interesting in a players poll a couple of times the team most players love to generally beat is Parramatta.

Why is that is there a stigma of players coming through the ranks Parramatta don't show a lot of love to a lot kids coming through and they feel rejected by it. So they love to prove a point when they get there.

Unless your in the catholic school system you struggle to get a look in at Parramatta in the area.

We have let Manly come in & establish themselves at Westfield Sports High in Fairfield ffs. How on earth do we let that happen.

On the bagging of Murph its a genuine pisstake started by hineyrulz for shits and giggles on here.

No one on here truly thinks Steve Murphy has had any influence on the overall scheme of things.

He may have had some influence in the earlier years as the head assistant when BA started but he has basically been moved away from that role to the waterboy and basically the go-between on the walkie-talkie between the players and BA during a game getting the messaging across to the players during the game.
