It still doesn't get away from the premise of my original argument.

The coach at the time was no longer the best person to coach the team, so he had to go. Whatever reason is fairly irrelevant for why he was no longer the best person.
The reason is very relevant. Any decision to change the coach was to do with keeping their best player, not their best coaching option.

The reason is extremely relevant. How do you know when someone is 'no longer the best person to coach the team'? It's fairly obvious when your most important player demands you give his dad a job. It's a lot less obvious when the win rate starts to decline.

When did this happen exactly?

One would think that's one of the key indicators that someone might be starting to 'no longer the best person to coach the team'. It certainly seemed to be for us during 2023 and early 2024.

We've been through this, there was no intention to give Ivan the job at the exact time they sacked Griffin. If the intention was to give Ivan the job at the time, Gus would still be at the Panthers.

Why else would the Panthers bring back the coach who was 'no longer the best person to coach the team'? He had made the finals once since the 2011 grand final when Penrith brought him back in 2019. Occam's Razor says he wasn't brought back for his coaching prowess.

But not in 2018? The fact is clubs don't always know when it's time for a new coach. But the salary cap means replacing the coach is often the only lever the club has. After 2018 we were able to get rid of a bunch of problem players. That's not an option for us now, and the board had to 'do something'.

We haven't been through this at all. Your if-then statement is a non sequitur.

Is Occam's Razor your buzzword of this week? Topic in your online humanities course readings? Who are you to say what Occam's Razor says...

It's just become a convenient label to push whatever Poupou's Razor might be at the time (and depending how many drinks in you are of your session).

It forces you to recognise we are dealing with probability here. Your demand for a link to a bullshit article by some hysterical rugby league journo will not bring us the truth.

You believe Ivan Cleary was brought back to Penrith for his coaching ability? Which facts supported it at the time? Why was he the wrong coach in 2016 but the right coach in 2019? If you can't answer these questions you have no place lecturing anyone.

No, it's just a lame way of making your guesses/opinions seem more "authoritative".

Rubbish... source?

Unlike you, I'm not here to lecture anyone, but the fact is...

If results go as per the ladder, BA's looking at 3 wins maximum.

If the Rhinos fail to respond to their new temporary boss or his halftime talks, it could be less.

Remaining nine games:
W v Huddersfield (A) - 8th
L v Salford (A) - 6th
L v Wigan (H) - 1st
L v Warrington (A) - 2nd
L v Catalans (H) - 5th
W v London (A) - 12th
W v Hull FC (H) - 11th
L v Wigan (A) - 1st
L v Hull KR (A) - 3rd

They're more authoritative anyway, because I show my evidence and logic. Meanwhile there are merkins on your side of the debate who think that the result of a single game proves whatever point they're trying to make.
Rubbish... source?
Exactly.

He has won 1 wooden spoon and on track to win 2.

Its truly bizarre he has gone over to UK for a 10 game stint.

His stocks may go down if he only gets 2 or 3 wins.

When he is basically the red hot favourite to get the next NRL job that opens up.
I doubt any club makes coaching decisions with the expectation of short term results. Decisions Arthur's makes now will have impacts next year whether he is there or not. NRL clubs will hold this view as well.
