Well, free agent in that he's no longer a head coach. I'm guessing most assistant coaches (in Holbrook's circumstance) would request clauses in their contract allowing them to leave early to take up a head coaching role.

I don't think it went well for Ryles when he was at the Roosters and had a few offers they kicked him out the door straight away.

He’s super impressive the way he carries himself and what he has done with QLD in such a short space of time.

It pains me as he was such a grub as a player.

But he is a winner.

You can tell how prepared he has the QLD team.

There is a coach that would immediately take the job if offered to him and he isn't on the list. Won a NRL premiership and Super League titles. There is another who has has won a comp in the English Super League and I'd argue is as good as BA but not as stale.

I think maybe McGuire's man magement might get a bit stale, though. He's never been anywhere very long? and seems to have lost the dressing room in at least one season.

I don't think we even need to worry about it. I think the board will take the easy way out and just promote Trent Barrett to head coach. And that possibility has me more than a little concerned.
