Andrew Ryan played 2 games of SOO at Parramatta, and has played 10 since joining the Bulldogs.

His Wikipedia entry (not exactly a source but mentioned nonetheless) states "after three years at Parramatta, Ryan was unable to establish himself in the first grade team".

Surely this would be correct - behind players like the Hindmarsh brothers and so on...

Grail said it himself - he never truly established a position and was forced to play all around the park before finally moving on to the Bulldogs... he fell out of favour with NSW selectors in 2002 before truly hitting his straps and cementing a consistent first grade spot in our back row in 2003-4, re-earning himself a Blue jersey in 2004.

 Yes, I've got all this stuff to cover up... I'm a Bulldogs director and I know all the terrible goings on - mate - wake up to yourself, we're supporters on a forum not business people trading barbs.
if your a director -it's obvious why the club was in turmoil

Are you ignoring the bit where I said "not exactly a source"? F*ck me do people read before posting?

Grail... why didn't Ryan play SOO in 2002?

So, would it not be best to leave Wikipedia opinions out of a discussion that is based on fact? If it's not going to prove your point with any reputable accuracy you might as well of left it out.

I read it, but discounted it as you quoted that article as justification for your asinine claim that Ryan struggled to get a gig in first grade.

That was a question that I was asking myself in 2002. He played much better than Vella IIRC that year, and yet big Mick got a spot on the bench.

It doesn't prove you right though, nor does it prove me wrong.
Ryan was in the early stages of his career and there were still a lot of established players that got picked ahead of him. And as we all know, tenure not form often dictates who gets rep jumpers.

No. He was so valuable to the team that he was used to fill gaps when required.
He played lock more often than not.

Exactly. Ffs, if we had rorted the cap as well we would have been able to keep him!

Quote where that's been said or you're talking out of your ass.

He's played his best footy at the Bulldogs, there's no denying that.

Adrian Rovere's latest article seems to sum up the point nicely IMO.

Because you think it's dribble and you're speculating on which team he supports, it's suddenly less credible? Please.

lol. I dont care what anyone says. All clubs buy players, and they dont jus become Better because they are at x club. They were always talented

I think the main point to note is

Why are all the those "bred" players leaving ?

Who is this in reply to?

Ryan was exceptional at stages during his stint with the Eels. I would agree that he has possibly become more consistent since he ventured to Belmore, but is that because he has matured or the Bulldog influence. Either way, it's irrelevant, because that's not what you've been bleeting about. You've implied that the Bulldogs developed Ryan. The facts are that he was a 70+ game first grader and SOO rep when you got him, and the Eels would have loved to keep him but for the salary cap.

I hate to make it so simple, but....

Andrew Ryan is a Bulldog, and

Willie Mason is a Rooster...ya see it is so simple...

Every club buys players....even Newcastle these days...

Our captain had fallen out of favour and out of the rep teams. Good coaching and development saw him regain his spot and take it further.

Wrong. Myles was at his best at the Dogs. He is yet to play like he did back then.
He was wanted but we could not afford to pay overs for him.
Mason left because he struck a deal with beesting and fittler earlier in the year.
Anything that was stated and claimed by Mason was a straight out lie.
Since when is the place some player allegedly plays his best footy make him bred there? Ryan was an established First Grader from Parra. he wasnt Bred at belmore. neither was Patten, Neither was Tonga, etc etc...You buy them like everyone else. Kouparitsas - Canberra boy. Cleal Journeyman, Danny Williams - Roosters first grader. Bought not Bred. How about one of your greatest? Terry Lam...WESTS. Again Bought not Bred. At least we can admit to buying talent....all clubs do and can admit it, except the Dogs. We'll smash you on Friday with OUR forwards!!!

When will the homos who wrote this article realise that the players they claim we took from other clubs where DUDS when we bought them (all except for Ryan and O'Meley) and we've turned them into something good. Players like Tonga, Patten and Armit where nobodies at their former clubs and we've turned them into much better players.

They talk about Mason, SBW, Asotasi and Anasta coming from different parts, ffs they where 14 and 15 when we got them. We did breed them pretty much.

So for a club to have a "bred" player they have to have been born and they have to grow up in that area?

Whoever wrote this article should shoot themselves in the c**k.
