Can we have one? I know it panders to those fishing for popularity, but it would also be great in sorting the wheat and chaff.

Are they fishing for popularity or just fishing for a reaction? I think in most cases it is the latter.

It's weird. I hate the idea of a public up or down voting, but I get why it works. Dislikes in theory should weed out trolling turds but it will undoubtedly be used against a valid but unpopular opinion.
