if saints are to struggle, i'd rather it occur during this stage of the season. but they are looking truly amateurish in every aspect of footy atm.

parra are in deeper poop. they don't have the injury excuse to use. they have a coach who is leaving, a young halfback suffering second year syndrome & the team looks like it's waiting for next year.

Christ, after 10,000 broken bones and snapped ligaments in the past 5 years even we have gotten over our huge injury tolls of the past.

What's doing Dragons?!

And somehow they will prob pull off a win vs the warriors.
They did in 2004 when they went over there with their backs against the wall.

Typical Danish w*nk post

Cry all you like, its still the truth.

Saints have half their side nursing various injuries and it will again end up costing them a shot at the title.

Perhaps they need to look into a new fitness manager or training plan because I've never seen a team more prone to injury than that of the dragons. Other teams will have 1 bad season (dogs 05, roosters 06) but the Saints are constantly dogged with 4-5 serious injuries every single year.

Parra, however, just plain stink at the moment. I dont know whether Hagan is going to be able to change that either.

Parra must ditch Smith for the rest of the season, bring back Jack Gibson!

As much as it irks me, Danish is right.

Our injury toll over the last 5 seasons has been horrific. If we got a cap exemption for players injured and unavailable, we could have bought Johns.

Outside of Jack, the caretaker position wouldn't really be eagerly filled unless they could get Dave Fairleigh or Farrar early. Taylor is going, Sharp already has. The rest of the coaching staff don't have the experience. Initially the idea of naming a coach early on seemed like a good idea......not sure management did a good job on this one though.

really do feel for the dragons and roosters. How any side could cope with the injuries they have had this season is beyond me.

This season?

Although we had a reasonable year last year (if you can count losing your main playmaker - Matt Head - for half a season as a reasonable year) we have had a similar injury toll for the last five friggin years.

After yet another season affected by a horrific injury toll, the fitness gurus at St George Illawarra are trialling a new training program.

The two new techniques, entitled "Warming Up" and "Warming Down" are new to the Saints and the club is quietly confident these revolutionary exercises will preserve the fitness of the three or so players who remain uninjured

Saints have just had bad luck with injuries. All they can do is soldier on as best they can, get as many wins as they can & wait for the cavalry to arrive. Hopefully for them it'll be in time to get into the eight & start again once the finals begin.

As for Parra it seems a bit more complicated - a fair few issues (eg T.Smiths confidence, coaching merry-go-round). One thing for sure though is that Hindmarsh is being flogged unmercifully & its making him ineffective in attack. He should be an offensive weapon for Parra, but having to complete 50+ tackles a game is making him nearly useless with the ball in hand. He's a thoroughbred being used to do a clydesdales work. Don't know if he is following the coaches instruction or if he just can't help himself - just compelled to go after the ball carrier at all costs.

it comes as no suprise that the dragons are struggling, of course they have a few injuries but its the same story year after year, meant to be favourites to win the competition but it never happens, cant see it happening anytime soon either. no team with trent barret as captain will win a competition.

I just look at the green machine,a bunch of neville no names, who put in nine weeks out of ten.Always bloody tuff nut to crack.Probably will struggle to make the eight, but will turn up and compete, most weeks.
The drags and the Eels should take note,go back to basics and get the little things right

It's simple.

The Eels, in particular Tim Smith, are a very instinctual team. They play relying on their instincts.

But Brian seems to have told them to forget about their instincts - to play to a set plan.

A team comes out firing, blows our set plans to hell, the team gets frustrated and presto - struggling Eels.

Well yeah and the fact you dropped one of your only good players, John Morris, for no reason!

But whats the difference?

They had set plays going out to them last year as well.

Its just that the Parramatta players played beyond their capablilities last year.

Tim Smith is a major reason, opposing teams didnt know him well last year while this year hes been targeted and presto, there goes the golden boy tag.

No biggie, Karmichael Hunt and Braith Anasta had it in their first year.

Dragons have been unlucky with injuries.
Heck take Webcke/Petero/Lockyer out of the broncos and see where they would go.
Take Mason/Omeley/Sherwin out of the dogs and see how they play
Take Cayless/Stringer/Smith out of the eels and see how they play...hmmm....well they might play better!
