This Merger needs to end asap the board St George and Gordons has shown in 28 years has been a failure.
Manly and Norths split after years of the Merger.
St George Leagues and the history of the Red V Dragons has to much history to be given in the hands of the Gordons who couldn't save the Illawarra Steelers before the Merger with St George so why would they save the Dragons they are not interested . St George Leagues has over 70 million in cash and other investments in other Nsw clubs that they own and had lent Illawarra steelers 6 million to stand afloat but was to late then was to buy out Illawarra before Gordons came in late to buy Illawarra out of the JV .
Gordons need to sell out and move on they are a media company and are not experience in running a Nrl Club that is a big part of the Nrl history in Rugby League. The Nrl need to stand in and resolve it before the fan base of the Dragons will not show up in membership renewals next season .

Let me add — this whole idea that the Illawarra region is some “elite nursery” of juniors that’s crucial to St George’s future is absolute garbage.
If that were true, we wouldn’t constantly see solid players — not even superstars — walking straight out the door to other clubs. It’s not a strength, it’s a system that’s clearly failing, and the NRL has allowed it to happen for years.
People keep repeating this narrative like it’s fact, but where’s the actual return? Where’s the sustained success?
I’ve followed St George Dragons since 1977 — not the NRL. I’ve said it plenty of times: I don’t watch other games, and I never will.
This isn’t about theory — it’s about results. And the results just aren’t there.

Phil Gould had been asked by Mary when he was coach to come in and look at the JV systems in place .
After 3 months Gould walked away and said its to far gone the way the merger has been operating.
And this was before Gould got snapped up by Bulldogs thats shows Dragons under the Gordons are not open for change. Look at the Bulldogs now Gould has completely changed the board and coaching staff and juniors.

The Merger has not won a spoon yet, the NRL's darlings clubs the Dogs, Sharks and Eels have since the failed Merger joined. If Saints get it this year it will be their first. They need to get 2 more spoons to catch the Dogs and Eels and will be equal with the Sharks after this year. So how has the merger failed and Eels, Sharks and Dogs haven't? Why weren't they told to fold, merge with each other or go away when they were last.

2002 - Dogs last - Salary Cap cheating
2008 - Dogs Last
2012 - Eels last
2013 - Eels last
2014 - Sharks last
2018 - Eels Last
2020 - Broncos last - Dogs 2nd last
2021 - Dogs last

The season is not over yet and the merged failed club may still get out of jail, if Flanno leaves that is.

You know that all Saints had to do is beat Parra which they should have and they would be 2nd last as Parra have a worse +/-. Guler hogging it on the last is the difference and Atkins in Vegas is what has helped the Eels not become the laughing stock that we are.

Seriously? You're saying that with a bit of luck we could be running second last?

We're in big trouble if that's the sum total of the clubs aspirations.

Why did the joint venture go to couples therapy?
Because one partner kept saying,
“I used to win 11 in a row…”
…and the other kept replying,
“Yeah, but let’s focus on the future.” 😄
Therapist just said:
“Maybe… you two would be happier seeing other teams.”
