Here's something for the people who think our uniform is more St.George than Illawarra. Look at MOS82's avatar. Take away the Red V from our jersey & what do you get? The complete Illawarra uniform.

 That was our old ALTERNATE JERSEY!!!

Reverse colour design. Hell, i'd even be happy if the Dragons did that.
Well whats the problem then?
The Steelers jersey, 'alternate' of otherwise, makes up half of the Dragons jersey.
The whole premise of this thread was to win votes of sympathy from those who feel Illawarra are not getting enough recognition.

The Red V can't help it if it stands out more than the red arm stripes.

btw, you didn't answer my last question. A little directness won't go astray.

Hmm... so you're saying that the current Dragons jersey looks just like the Steelers alternate jersey? I think you need to visit an optometrist Willow... losing your eye sight (and sanity) in you're old age.

And it's an alternate jersey - which isn't very important (ie, why it shouldn't be such a big deal to replace the blood and bandages with an all red jumper).

As for the directness thing? WTF?

aahhh, another personal insult. A sign that you're struggling in the debate.
This is good but I didn't say that at all... please concentrate.

I'm referring to the jersey in your avatar. You seem to like it. As Immortal said, add the Red V and we have the current strip.

If it's not so important, why are you plugging so hard to have it changed?

I asked you not to dance around the question... a simple yes or no will do. Have another look.

Because the Steelers HOME strip as the alternate Dragons jumper would give us proper inclusion in the Dragons. I don't care if they balanced it with St.George socks and shorts when they wear the all red strip.

As for the directness thing... let me spell it out for you.

I want CHANGE FROM THE CURRENT ARRANGEMENT.

If the JV continues = More recognition of Illawarra (through the alternate strip). The Dragons to make the move (which is going to happen down the track) to Wollongong. Resulting in more passion and new support with a full time one town team.

OR

JV disolves = Steelers are back in PL and Flegg. Better than no appearance in any grade (as of next year again, and like previous years).

There... got that? Direct enough for you? My opinions on this have been clear for all to see. You should "please concentrate" and "read again".

PS: 86% now. Looking even better.

lol. you do get flustered. Perhaps you should deep breath and relax for a while.

Don't you mean St George Illawarra Dragons? That's the team name isn't it?
I don't recall the word, 'Steelers' being in there.

The Illawarra already have proper inclusion with more home games being played in the Illawarra, and the jersey is the old Illawarra away strip with a Red V on the chest.
With less financial committment and more junior development in the Illawarra, I'd say it's a good deal with football in the Southern Division being one of the beneficiaries.

PS: 86% now. Looking even better.
Oh please... you're not that impressionable are you? The polls on these forums are for fun and open to anyone and their mates... have you forgotten where you posted this? Again, lets call AC Nielson.

That's right, it's St.George Illawarra Dragons. But they wear St.George jumpers. What's wrong with St.George Illawarra, wearing St.George and Illawarra jerseys. The Red V would be the main one and used most of the time. As for your comment about the "Steelers" not being part of the name... um... yeah... that's right.

You're hillarious. So the Dragons are actually wearing the alternate Steelers jumper with a red V stuck on it?

With Leagues Clubs about to take a huge hit from the NSW Govt, the Dragons even say that they need to find new ways to generate funds, one being red-V members. Including the Steelers jersey into the Dragons would bring in plenty of more support (and dollars).

Willow, i've just realised what you're on about. By the above comment i mean:

I wouldn't mind if they used a red jumper with a white V.

Good to see you've composed yourself MOS82.

No need for the reluctance, it's a fact. You forgot that.

Again, I refer to your avatar. It was you who said it was the ALTERNATE JERSEY!!! (your capital letters not mine).
Surely you can see the similarity. I repeat that it's not the Red V's fault that it stands out more than the Steelers arm bands.
But it appears that, by accident or design, they have been combined.

Regarding your throw away remark about the red jumper with white V, you certainly got the nod from one ill-informed Canberra supporter.

Be careful what you say... these people vote.

And Canberra's should be all blue with a gold trim... ;-)

We do have blue and gold trim on our jersey representing the ACT. The area the club comes from.

The St George Illawarra Dragons should consider doing the same, by representhing their areas on their jerseys.

and Willow, I seem to be alot more knowledgable on the issue than you think.

Do you live in the St George district? Nah didn't think so. Guess who does? Just around the corner from Saints Leagues. So i ain't ill-informed.

You seem to place a lot of value on your digs.
And you seem to think that it's everyone's business that we know.

Heads up kid, living in Sydney, my St George address, and where I live now is none of your business. And besides that, it's totally irrelevant.
You know nothing.

Can you blame him? ;-)

I lived in Como for a while, one of the most beautiful places I've been.
Too bad about the people. :p

The wink won't let you escape the fact that you're a dill.
We can physically move residence but it takes a little more effort to move on what's happening between the ears.
In that regard, you're stuck in a tent outside of Queanbeyan.

Living in the past still.
Shouldn't you reserve that for MOS82?

I follow a team called the St George Illawarra Dragons and accept the JV. I respect the history of the Dragons. This is pretty much in line with current set up in the club.
And let's not overlook the fact that the Dragons club (as a JV) and the NRL are happy to enjoy the history when it's marketable to do so.

MOS82 on the other hand is clinging onto some forlorn hope that the Steelers will be back. While I admire his resolve, blind freddy can tell you that this is unlikely to happen.
Living in the past.

I lived on The Kingsway in Cronulla for a few years. Nothing wrong with the place itself... except that some of the more ignorant residents are suspicious of anyone who talks or looks different to themselves. Some Shire residents think they're at the centre of the universe. Something I found amusing considering they live out their years at the dead end of a peninsular.
