Point is, they wouldnt be able to maintain/achieve a place in the NRL.
Yeah i know. But at least they'd stand alone in Premier League and FleggRedDragon said:Point is, they wouldnt be able to maintain/achieve a place in the NRL.

1.) You have said a number of times that you want an end to the JV and the Steelers back. You may recall this.
2.) You just said that you want all 'Dragons' games to be played in Wollongong - an inequity if there ever was one.
3.) When asked about the connection with the Steeler's jersey and moving to Wollongong, said this:
Man_of_Steel_1982 said:It will certainly win back a hell of alot of people. As for moving down here, I asked the Dragons and they said "not in the near future". Notice they didn't say never I'll always hope!
An ultimate aim to see the Steelers name going around again, wearing the Steelers jersey, playing in Wollongong fulltime... that sounds about right doesn't it?
Unless you've recently changed your mind.
There'll all separate issues Willow, with one common thread - change from the current situation.
In regards to the Steelers standing alone, my idea (which is separate to this argument) was that the Steelers would of been better off standing alone in PL and Flegg, perhaps as a feeder club to St.George. (as a way of both clubs maintaining their true identity). It would of meant just controlling the juniors and having more of a presence than is currently the case.
This issue is on the basis of the joint venture staying in place. And it's looking good at 85%
You're desperately trying to twist and combine all my opinions on different matters into one to try and discredit the argument.
Keep it up... you've got me in stitches.
There is a team down here, the St George Illawarra Dragons.I would like to see a team from Illawarra playing in the NRL again weather they are the steelers or another name, the only thing stopping a succesful team in this area was $$ as this Area down here has to be one of the greatest Nurserys for juniors going around of anywhere in Australia
With this statement you show how much you cared for the steelers when you had them.Manly Fan for 33 years & loving it

This is a prime example of why St George supporters crack the sh*ts about Illawarrans.
You have a team down here, that plays 7 out of 12 games down here, has Illawarra in the name, and you go and support Manly.
No wonder they call Berkeley, Bezerkley.

Read the post again poindexter.Raiders 2005 said:So the two stripes on the Dragons Jersey is the recognition Illawarra gets? Wow the pride in the two stripes.
Not a little recognition. Full recognition.Raiders 2005 said:But Ok, fair enough, The Steelers get a little recogniation on the home jersey.

Good point. So whats with the full red (scarlet) thing then?
The White 'BHP' jersey with the two red hoops on the sleeve is indeed a Steelers jersey:
Illawarra jersey:
Add the St George red V and you get the St George Illawarra jersey.
Part of the reasoning for the Steelers being the 'away' jersey is because people believe it gives due recognition to Illawarra.
The current 'home' jersey already does that.
Has this been overlooked because the Red V is a dominant and an immediately recognisable feature? Or is it because the Steelers jersey was just too bland to notice?
Or perhaps a combination of both?

Jabs said:Have a look at the shorts on Wishart in the MOS82 sig, they are exactly identical to the shorts St.George used to wear. We should wear those because it represents both.
Well whats the problem then?Man_of_Steel_1982 said:Immortal said:Here's something for the people who think our uniform is more St.George than Illawarra. Look at MOS82's avatar. Take away the Red V from our jersey & what do you get? The complete Illawarra uniform.
 That was our old ALTERNATE JERSEY!!!
Reverse colour design. Hell, i'd even be happy if the Dragons did that.
