The Taj Mahal is based in dead centre of Dragons territory. St George juniors are still represented in underage rep footy so still an ample St George area nursery. Basing the Centre of Excellence in the 'Gong tho may be a sticking point for the Front Office to abandon the Illawarra side of the merger. Hope not as personally I'd give my left ball for us to be back as a stand alone club, the club I have supported for closing on 60 years.

The other merger on the hand - Wests and Balmain - Wests provide everything. The dollars and the juniors. The Tiger brand is massive though. Have to remember though that they're owned by Wests Ashfield, and Concord isn't far from there hence why NRL is based in the inner west

I'd argue the Magpie brand is on par or bigger. Compare Collingwood to Richmond for one.

St George District is made up? What does that even mean? What districts weren’t made up? St George was traditionally the council areas of Kogarah, Rockdale and Hurstville. Sure council mergers have made those boundaries less clear but I would argue people identify as being from the St. George district much more than someone would say “I’m from South Sydney” or “I’m from Western Suburbs”. Those regions are much less relevant. You have so many businesses that identify as bring from St George.
