The Parish of St George is a very real district. Loads of businesses, including the Club's main sponsor call themselves St George- @bad boy bubby is just trolling, and doing a good job of it.

It also encompasses the suburbs of Canterbury, Campsie, Belmore, Lakemba, etc, too.

The St George Hotel on Canterbury Rd Belmore was named after the region/parish it resides in.

St George is based on the cadastral region of the Parish of St George used for land titles.

It may not be as relevant today in for the layman, but it is a historic name and brand in Australian rugby league. Why the f**k would they want to remove it!
Why the f**k do Ham Common not have a team. That’s a bloody disgrace

St. Illawarra Dragons. Make the full move to Wollongong but keep the St. in the name as a nod to the past
Still have 1 or 2 games at Kogarah

Nothing pleases me more than opposition supporters providing guidance on such things.

It was Andrew Ettinghausen who once said, "I don't care which team you support, as long you support Rugby League." Wise words.

It was on that fishing show he used to host. I thought ET sounded pretty smart, for a Cronulla boy.
We could always to defer to that other Cronulla great, Jack Bird.
He has quite the eloquent way with words.

No, never bailed out. They had a loan deal that was temporary, it was minor. WIN is not just Wollongong. You really need to think bigger.
Win’s hq is in Wollongong and the only reason they half own the club is because Dragons are based in Wollongong.
the fact it plays some games in a tip in a little suburb called kogorah is a necessary annoyance I’m sure.
should be 9 games in a redeveloped Wollongong stadium and 3 games at allIanz. All hail the Illawarra Dragons.

So? And learn to spell. It'll help you become a better expert
Haha, you know the debate is over when someone starts pointing out grammar and spelling errors! :)
aside from a main sponsor and $360k pokie cash what is the st George side of the club delivering? Kogarah is a sht hole and doesn’t draw big crowds, jnrs are mostly from Illawarra, the club has chosen Wollongong as its hq, a new CofE is being built in Wollongong, the 50% Illawarra owner is far richer than the st George part of the ownership which is reliant on a diminishing trade to make its money. Seems to me the dragons future is in the south, not in an over crowded sydney market.

You keep spelling Kogarah wrong. I'm trying to help you.
Sorry champ, but you're just not very good at this.

The one advantage to reverting back to the St George Dragons brand is it would allow the club to market itself to English rugby league fans in Australia and abroad.

A strong link with the RFL could provide the Dragons with a strong supply of players and a potential fanbase from that part of the world. It would actually be a good way of making the NRL more relevant in England. If the Dragons managed to achieve this then they would become a juggernaut like the Broncos and the envy of all other Sydney clubs.

You're much better at it than this amateur

Enjoy your arvo. I'm up at sparrows so cheers.
That's because you know that I'm just taking the piss. "They", collectively, are dead serious in their convictions.
Cheers mate, have a good sleep so you can respond in time hahaha.
