Dragons Head Of Recruitment

I assume Millard isn't particularly good.. and we know Haran isnt.. hence why Flanno has ended up doing it all himself.

I do really hope he gets some assistance next year though, someone he trusts to atleast do a lot of the grunt work, set things up.. manage relationships.. identify left-field recruitment ideas...

Plus this off-season, Flanno can finally stop and breathe... he will be far more comfortable than 12 months ago where he was dropped in after his manly gig and probably was working 24/7 trying to resolve everything in time for this season... staff, board, recruitment, juniors, pre-season.. and even upgrading training facilities... plus imo hes proven his worth now... I think if he wants staff changes there is more chance they are listening to what he has to say.

Flanno will have a Plan B but good recruitment managers are not easy to get. I understand discussions were had with Fulton but broke down, maybe not a Flanno person. His priority at the moment is to secure Holmes & a couple of big boppers & he will then focus on the appropriate person. He is doing some massive hours at the moment & will need help in 2025.

We also have Kyle Stanley doing a great job in junior recruitment so one has to ask… Why are we paying 200- 300k for Millard to do sweet FA ?Fed
Fed dinkum you want the club to cut Millard loose from his contract cause he has an illness?
Let’s see what happens there before casting the poor guy out
You don’t even know his salary or illness!
Imagine if we did that to Ramsay… as a comparison

I apologise, I wasn’t aware that his illness was severe.

Stanley does seem to be amazing, but is he better served looking after our juniors? I assume he cant be doing all ages.. and i think a big part of him is his mentoring type demeanour? Which might be more appropriate to managing youngsters moving out of home or interstate etc, but not as necessary for older players.

I do actually think a lot of our roadblocks r happening because Flanno is very fixed on how much he will pay (hes thinking longterm).. but contracts probably wont drag out like they have been if players are actually excited about the opportunity to come to us.. I think its a mix of the 2 issues causing players to hold out and see if another club comes in first.
