Dragons let down by the NRL

BLM01, your approach as a fan may differ to mine.
I know it sounds a little like a whinge but over the years, very few of our appeals or requests have been upheld.
Getting a loan from the NRL came at a price where we were owned by the NRL administration. Whenever a negotiation with the clubs took place. Dragons always sided with the NRL.

As a fan, I am generally more critical towards the dragons during games yet for every game where we get the benefit of ref's decisions and apparent luck there are many more where it is obvious the Dragons were pinged for every possible infringement while the opposition were allowed to hold down in tackles and not pulled up for tries off forward passes.
This year, There were about 3 games where the opposition scored close wins solely due to forward passes not called.
Against Manly, there were numerous calls in favour of Manly yet the final play was called out as an escort even though Lafai in my opinion was there early enough to be entitled to stand his ground.
In fact, in that same game, 2 minutes into the second half there were 3 definite escorts by Manly players
in the one kick with no mention from the commentators, Refs, or NRL. Check it out if you can, its mind boggling that it was missed.

Remember the 2015 Anzac game? We were denied a legit try by refs not bothering to review yet Trent Robinson singled out a penalty for a head high on Aitken to whinge about. Guess were all the media attention went.

It happens all too often as the disrepect shown by the NRL flows on to the Referees and even to the commentary teams who are only to keen to sympathise with our opponents.

I admire your loyalty and you may be right re those decisions but your judgment is clouded and you are searching too deep and of course Dragons bad luck stories stick.
I still think we were ripped off by Harrigan in the 99 GF but hey I'll get over it one day.
As I said ask any supporter about decisons this year and they all could rattle off a similar list if you look hard enough this and past years
One bad decision in a game should not cost you the game if your good enough and none of those you mentioned were the sole reason we lost or luckily won those games.
We won the 15 Anzac game anyway so boo hoo to Robbo
Robbo could say the same after the 19 GF where all the attention went on the 6 again debacle which was wrong right but didnt cost Canberra the game. They shot themselves in the foot.

I do see a lack of respect from the NRL towards the Dragons which I also notice is not levelled at teams like the Storm or Brisbane, Roosters.
A few examples such as:
* when Frizell was treated so roughly for incidentally touching a referee
* When we lost a game after the siren and the NRL refused to take any action
* Whenever we dispute a decision or event, the NRL always digs their heels in and always opposes our stand.
*When opposition coaches like Trent Robinson complain about incidents in games despite having the benefit of numerous other decisions, they are often backed by the refs and statements from the NRL.
* When the NRL refuses to enforce a realistic cap and investigate clear involvement by Club investors in TPA's and allowing the wealthy clubs to stockpile multiple million $ players at discounted values in the cap.
* When we were made an example of when Dummy half passes into players in the ruck were treated differently.
^When Frizell was cited for a head high tackle when the opposing player hit his head into Frizell's chest.
* When JDB was stood down, putting restrictive conditions on the value and terms under which a replacement could be added.
When the stand down rule was initiated by complaints by the Roosters and Storm executives.

I am sure there will be different perceptions of the above by some who will dispute some of my examples but it is more the lack of any examples where they have considered the interests of any of the teams other than the wealthy.
I almost feel like a fool for supporting a team that is not being given a fair go by the NRL. Just wasting my time and money when the NRL is designing the competition to suit the wealthy teams.
dont get me started on 7th tackle Storm GF 99 and also the disgusting Mathew Ridge incident Manly GF 96

You could survive by answering my question about BHP...

Or if that’s too tough, happy for you to talk about Myer..

Both are companies that have merged but still held their history and identity, from both a brand and legal standpoint..

Sorry ole chap, can't agree with that.
We've been blaming the club for appointing McGregor for five years now.
Nothing new here.

A star-studded team with many Origin and Internationals, yet we come second last in the comp.
We continue to break more bad club records each season McGregor is still coach.
We have dozens of assistant coaches for what reason?
We still have an idiot impersonating a coach, yet he does not get sacked?

Let me assume you the 'creeping in' is old news and rightly so.
We fans have a genuine right to be dissatisfied with what we have been dealt from the management, year after year.
  • Nothing star studded about our back 5.
  • Our halves given a very poor game plan to follow.
  • Our forwards charged with the responsibility of dominating the opposition pack through a game plan that is both predicable and easy to address.
  • If the forwards do not dominate, we lose the game.
Of course it does not help that we have an inept management staff and the worst head coach in the competition.

I'm sure that most fans just want our Board of Management to deliver professional high level staff, a squad of high level talented players and a club culture akin to standards held during our past long and successful history.

Oh, was that question re: BHP directed at myself? Next time, it would be good if you could extend some courtesy by tagging me.

As for the aforementioned company, my knowledge is sketchy but I do know for certain it’s a JV (not a merger) with amongst others, Rio Tinto.

Myer? Well, that’s another entity which has bought out several companies...e.g. Grace Brothers...since its formation in 1900.

Who is providing you with your “goulash”. your intel, your info. etc? Let me guess....Wikipedia?!?

Yeah, that’s not BHP’s corporate structure you’ve made a link to. You’re talking about a joint venture there, not a merger..

Lol.. You’ve pretty much just gone full circle in the merger vs JV discussion.

Happy to point you in the right direction:

BHP & Billiton’s merger..

Myer’s merger & subsequent de-merge with Coles..

Go do some study on those two and come back..

You may want to fix your “Internet scoreboard” on the way out..

Lol..

I’m talking about JVs? No shit, Sherlock. You’ve reaffirmed all of my points thus far.

Updated scoreboard: Jimmy 2, Amnesia affected Muzby zip.

This would be entertaining if it weren’t tragic.

Your pigeoning again.. Are you drinking?

The point of the discussion was:

Mergers allow entities to keep their history, whilst JV’s are new entities with no history..

Perhaps go check Australian law instead of just posting the first result you find from a Google search..

I’ll wait.

Just like you do. You quote things you don't have a clue about most of the time.
You spend all of you time shire stirring and attempting to annoy the hell out of people on here and successfully doing so. Now write something funny and stupid again why don't you.

Like what exactly?

I only engage in debates where I know what I’m talking about..

Right now we’re discussing the difference between a merger and a JV from a corporate entity point of view..

If you can’t contribute and just want to derail yet another thread with your petty personal attacks, you can sod off..

And why would you say I stir Sutherland? I have no beef with them..

Get fckend it's annoying when someone picks on you for no particular reason isn't it. When you stop it I will ,every time you make a mistake but while you continue to pick on people and tell them what to do and what not to do I'll have you every time.

You’ll have me?

Lol...

Are you going to join in on the merger vs joint venture discussion or are you just being a useless troll again?

For all the shit tha'ts been written about the sorry saga of JDB the simple fact is he put himself above all his teammates, the wags, the club and the fans.
Then Mc Fookknuckle puts Jack above all his team mates, the wags, the club and the fans.
Then after the disaster called season 2019 the fluff articles start so the entire season seems to have been "all about Jack".
In the end it is apparent that Jack's sack sent us back, so now it's time to sack Jack to be on the road back but not sure the club has the balls to do it.

OT,
I agreed with everything you wrote with exception of sacking Jack.
Yes, he was the butt of all excuses for players & coaches all year round.
However, even though the club was wrong not to put him in the background
( for the best of the team ).... they should continue to stand by him ( in the background) ... until his court case. Innocent until proven otherwise, regardless of whether how much of a dickhead we think he is.

Hindsight is a marvellous thing but our learned ceo has a habit of making wrong calls.

JDB was stupid and selfish with no regard for anyone other than his teenaged mate.
He put everything at risk and the fallout is nothing short of catastrophic now and into the future
There is far too much uncertainty around him so to bring certainty and stability back to the club IMO see you later Jack is the only answer and tbh I have no sympathy for him whatsoever.
He took a risk and busted.
