DRAGONS NEW CEO TIM WATSFORD

Hopefully the new Ceo in Tim will completely change the way we are recruiting players .
We need marquee players and at least 3 big names for 2027 . I would look at Xavier Coats 1 from Melbourne
Payne Hass 2 from Brisbane
Jerome Hughes from Melbourne .
Agree, we need to shop at the top level, not from rejects of the other cellar dweller teams (ie.Tigers).

We need a balanced rosteer. 1-17 need to be first grade players with the spine 1, 7or 6, and a prop to be marquee players.

In 2026, we will most likely end up with:

1. Ramsey
2. Finau
3. Gutherson
4. Holmes
5. CT
6. Atkinson
7. Reed
8. Haas
9. Liddle
10. T Couchman
11. Halangahu
12. Su'A
13. Egan

14. Kyle Flanagan
15. Leilua
16. Stewart
17. Nick T

18. LKT
19. Tonga
20. R Couchman

where have you been? haven’t posted on here in ages
Thanks for asking, I’ve been having a voluntary sabbatical from LU. But I’m back now part time anyway.

it’s been strange looking at SGI issues from afar without the benefit of the forum insight.

It’s been noted here before but from afar, SGI gets virtually zero positive coverage and little coverage in msm anyway. They are pretty slack with you. I don’t know why.

We had a story at the Tigers that Mary was being headhunted for a role. Richo said he hadn’t spoken to him but we all know the loophole of mates reaching out to mates to mates.

I remember his ping pong paddles when captain challenges were first introduced. Mary was the first coach to dodgy the system.

But it seemed to me that he hadnt told the captain what the colours stood for.

Costs nothing to dream Johnny. Good luck with that

Shock horror, I’ve had sponsorship related dealings with 3 NRL clubs over the last two weeks or so.

And the best and most professional of these has been with your own SGI.

Hungry and very professional.

So a wrap when due, well done to your admin.
We’ll take any good news, thanks, Phantom.
I hope you’re representing BHP, KFC or ANZ. If it’s any other company you might want to double-check their spelling!

You’re welcome, lol.

The new CEO might want to knock off a few heads to make his initial impact, but in my experience, your sponsorship department is in good hands.

Richo’s first act in command on arrival at WT was to summarily sack the poor gear steward so we all knew he was boss. Instead it was met with much laughter and derision.

I digress:

You have to educate your CEO early, make sure he doesn’t form the belief that he actually runs or controls anything.

Send him the oust dust signage and a photo of BJ on a wild outback donkey or whatever he’s doing these days.

And someone has to ram it home to him that theres no peace with the NRL until Saints stolen premierships are returned.

If he’s fully vlandified he won’t last.
He’ll be weeded out like those that came before him. It’s an ancestral matter, call it fate if you want.

The new CEO should initially prioritize making the football arm on a pathway to success by:

1. Addressing the poor quality of staff employed within the Football Department.
2. Acknowledging that the quality of players within the top 30 is, on average, poor.
3. Gaining consensus within Board Management to recruit at least 3 marquee players for season 2026.
4. Stipulating that first-grade team success in 2026 will be a guide when it comes to contract extensions.

I don't often agree possm but this post has nailed the priority issues that need to be addressed. Forget about sponsors and partners if we don't improve quality of players, coaches, football dept staff and recruitment.
