Any word on injuries? That's all i'm worried about.

Was this televised on FuelTV? I didn't have it on mine last night.

What's the verdict on the side so far?

Dean Young minor head cut

Jon Green minor concussion and badly cut nose.

Therefore, bugger all injuries

i really dont know why they dont televise trial games... most footy fans are going through withdrawals through the off season and they would get good ratings... it would be better than watching that z grade
A-league you have to put up with

sweet, sounds good

/me is of to watch fox sports highlights.

Just looking @ sportingbet.com.au, we're @ 15:1 atm, seems we haven't changed at all, suprising as the roosters are @ 16:1.

I like the comment from Fitler, "the look really sharp"

Was the trial showing too much enthusiasm too early in the season?
Will this make the rest of the teams pick up the pace?

man we looked good though.... wish I could watch a full replay :(

see you all @ Win for the Dogs :)))))))))))))

Hi guys, first time poster so go easy on me, alright. ;-)

I was at the game last night - fantastic to have rugby league back in WA and even better to finally see my beloved Dragons in the flesh.

Some of the boys looked really sharp last night, especially Lett - the last try he scored was a beauty. I wouldn't read too much into the result, but some of the errors the Roosters made were just silly fundamental ones that kids in under 11s wouldn't even make (Anasta's first kick off went straight out, lots of dropped passes, getting up and playing the ball sideways, running out of play under no pressure).

The game served its purpose though - it gave Bennett an idea of what everyone is capable of. The only disappointing thing, from my POV, was the players went straight off after the game. It would have been nice if they had walked around the field and acknowledged the great support that was there for them last night. There's a faily big contingent of us out in the west, and testament to that was the merch stand basically selling out, bar a few 3XL jerseys.

Anyway, roll on the season proper. I'm quitely optimistic that we're going to have a reasonably good season (barring injury of course, but when does that ever happen?).

Weyman copped a heavy knock in a tackle and wouldn't surprise if he pulled up a bit sore as well.

He had a cracking game though.

From the highlights they showed they looked pretty sharp.
I don't think we'll have one of our slow starts this year.

Nice start. Even if it was against an under strength Roosters, even though I dont think the score would have been much different because the players who are missing from the Roosters team are old and decreped anyway. lol. Anasta played is he the Roosters saviour.

Anasta wasn't (isn't!) very good. His first kick wobbled out of play on the full at the 20m mark. I'll tell you who else was rubbish for the Roosters - Stanley Waqa. He dropped the ball more times than I can remember and then after one hit he played the ball sideways.

From what i could hear, Frank Paul Nuuasala dropped the ball pretty much every time he touched it too.

The huge win was nice, the lack of injuries was nicer, but nicest of all, imo, was reading this in the smh this morning...

Bennett described his new team's ball control as "really good" - yet recruit Luke Priddis later revealed their first ballwork session as a team for the entire pre-season had been on Friday, just a few hours after Bennett's visit to South Perth.

FMD that is stunning. To be so controlled, fluid and effective barely one day after your first team ballwork session is pretty fkn exciting.

Yeh that is sweet to read. But I also think key to that was the way the attack was structured with people running into space. Smithy offered that the predictable second man plays that have long been affiliated with the club were put aside for some simple plays.

And offloads whilst still moving forward as opposed to desperate passes that go nowhere.

Yeah I read that, good sh*t. Props supported by mobile backrowers supported by backs. Looking forward to seeing it in action on Saturday. I imagine Bennett's MO will be the same, ie he'll pick a near full-strength side again. With Costigan also returning, paper today says he's served his suspension.
