Both Sullivan and bird are liabilities in the defensive line.
they both tried hard to make a miracle try. And both missed easy tackles which led to titans scoring.
I’m not sold on Sullivan as 5/8. Bad defensive reads, hopeless shallow bombs. However he has speed and produced a few good rubber kicks into the in goal for a repeat set.
You have to give the kid time in the position

Titans weren't great and their kicking game in particular was appalling. The one bomb to Sloan that put him under pressure near the end, he spilled.

However, you can only beat what's put in front of you and fair play to Hook, he (and perhaps the Assistant Coach) had the Dragons playing at a faster pace, with more offloads and with Sloan pushing up in support.

Same old defensive lapses near the line however- a mix of organisation and concentration problems. Í'll keep my powder dry until after the Bronx and Sharks games. If we can snaffle one of those, we'll be doing well.

RE: Amone
I think Hook was asked about selecting Amone towards the end of his presser last night and he seemed pretty nonplussed about giving Amone a run, I don't think we will see him in first grade unless we have injuries or he manages to clear his name after his day in court.
I think Hunt and Sullivan played well and have a high ceiling as a halves combination

Sullivan has a reasonable kicking game which will take some pressure off Hunt.

Add a healthy Liddle and a mercurial Sloan into the mix and we suddenly have many more attacking options.

When the forwards run straight and hard and get quick play the balls away, Rugby League is an easy game

Can’t say Bud was brilliant, but I expected it would take time. It’s going to take a few years till he is consistently playing well. 50+ games? We need to give young guys extended time to develop in the role. Sure, if there is consistently problems, you may send back to reggies to work on it, but we saw little really wrong (apart from some missed tackles), some solid work, and we are a step further forward. Keep it up

Not sure what game you were watching but Sullivan went at 80% tackle efficiency, Hunt was at 60%. Sullivan kicked for 184m from 6 kicks while Hunt kicked for 177m from 10 kicks. Assume you got them confused...

One thing I'd like to see is Feagai with a few more kick returns, Sloan can probably pass it off to him a bit more. Feagai only had 6 runs, want to see that bumped upto 10 for this game. Kick returns aren't Sloan's strength either so I think it's smart play to pass it off to Feagai a bit more.

I live on the GC so will be making the trek up to Lang Park. I don't expect a win however in saying that if the ponies take it easily and have already pencilled in the 2 pts who knows. It of course is a big step up from the Titans who most probably won't be featuring in the top 8. Reynolds v Hunt will be integral to our chances of being competitive. The bigger test are the engine rooms. Hass and Carrigan are two of the form forwards. Completion rates will be as important as the missed tackle count. Hopefully the lads will rise to the occasion and make it competitive but that awful try line and red zone defending has me concerned. Also it appears our best defensive forward will be not be again playing. If I was still coaching I'd be running Hass straight at Mbye and Carrigan at Hunt both missed 5 tackles last week. Anyway the Dragons army will be once again tucked away in the corner here's hoping that we start better than last week.

Thanks. But I thought Toby was out this week due to his concussion?
