Rest easy folks, just noticed that Henry Perenara (ex Dragons player ) is refereeing this game.
Another two points on the board.

That was a very good win yesterday no thanks to Perenara. He did everything but put on a tiger's jersey and run in some tries for them.
I hope the match review picks up on at least two blatant tiger fouls (Vaughan taken out and old fashioned shepherd) where Perenara failed to penalise and takes disciplinary action. I lost count of the number of last tackle penalties he gave the tigers - some for poor discipline sure but some were just soft and others questionable at best. Is Tony Archer still referee's boss? Surely they are not going to let Perenara get away scott free after what he dished up yesterday?

I think he use to play reserves for the dragons back in the day.

Maybe holds a grudge for not making it in first grade and having to turn to reffing.

He played a bit of first grade, 16 games in all. Ref: http://jubileeavenue.com.au/history/history_players_pqr.php

He was considered a promising signing in 2003, after Melbourne released him. He was after all a NZ International and only 22-years-old. But he suffered a shoulder injury and that ruled him out for a good period, and he was injured again in 2004. He had a two year contract but wasn't re-signed, signing instead with Parramatta for 2005.

IMO his refereeing performances have been mixed. He has had the occasional good game at ref but it's mostly ordinary stuff. Don't think he is holding any grudge, he just seems to miss things.

Thanks willow.

I know I remembered his playing days at the Dragons but it was a bit hazy.

I don't think he has a grudge either.

Just having a dig at a ref.

They are an easy target after all.

Rumour has it that one Steve Clark held a grudge, and don't get me started on Bill Harrigan. Ah, those were the days... when the referees hated us.
