Dragons vs Broncos

Fien should have been let go 2 years ago. The only time he has played ok was the last half of the Premiership year.

Players like him and a few others being kept on are indicative of why we are dead last.

It's not his fault though.

All i see is a club with no plan, no recruitment, no desire, shit coach and no leaders.

Fans are not stupid. In past years a WIN stadium game against the Broncos would be full to capacity. Last night it was around 13,000.

That to me says more than anything.

What's with Matt Cooper's running game lately?? I just wanna see him running some good hard lines, but instead he seems to crab along everytime he gets the ball.

I know he does a lot of MMA training, and when he runs the ball he looks like he actually wants to engage the defender and get in a wrestle like he's cage fighting, rather than try to beat the defender and get through the line.

He would be so much more damaging if he was getting good ball at the line, running a nice hard unders line at his opposite man's inside shoulder.

Does anyone else notice this?

I notice he does go sideways and last year lost count of the times he got pushed out on the sideline,he no longer has the speed to skirt the sideline even with his strength he was still pushed out,!

Yeah I agree, but Matt also rarely gets the ball in space, so is it fair to blame him for not hitting the line @ speed?

The sad part is, if you fix the problems at half and centre, we are actually a pretty decent side.

The forwards did a great job in controlling possession, building pressure and defending when needed. The back three look dangerous when given an opportunity. We just don't have the halves and centres to put it all together

Our terrible strategy when it comes to half and centre has been sadly found out. The only half coming through the ranks was Kyle and he seemed to play every position other than half. We have let go a number of decent centres (Josh, Whare, Linnett), and now we're stuck with an ageing, injury prone Cooper, and Chase who seems to break down with a knee injury every second game.

We have a coach who can't seem to attract players, and unfortunate tendency to let ageing players play a year or two too long, thus losing good prospects to other clubs. Bad combination.

Don't see a way out of this unless there is a total revamp of the recruitment strategy.
