The Dragons appear set on Benji Marshall and Gareth Widdop to be their halves in the short term but they’ve got a couple of excellent prospects on their hands in Shannon Crook and Adam Clune. Crook has enjoyed an excellent first season in the NSW Cup after ageing out of the under-20s and already possesses one of the best kicking games in that competition. He also produced several eye-catching touches in the Auckland Nines earlier this year. Clune is still eligible for the under-20s but has stepped up into NSW Cup on several occasions. A former junior touch football superstar, Clune has the quick feet and fast hands to succeed at a higher level.
