Yeah, also throw in Luke Patten as the dragons thought he was to skinny for regular first grade. Hence my suspicion of him having a chip on his shoulder with his unelighting praise about his past at dragons at also his dubious bunker rulings when we play!

Agree SaintPauli
Even when billy slater started (weather you like or hate him) people said he wouldn't last.

It's your profile that said you were 30. I thought it was only chicks that lied about their age:D
Ohhh, I got my young son to set it up in the beginning, I must check it and fix it mate.

I just did, ohh, you can't change the date it says, my silly boy, ( well he is 15) put the birthday of his older brother in my profile.
Ha

Some info on mighty, that was his nick name.

Ramsgate United junior, he debuted for St. George Dragons in 1971.

Mark Shulman played Halfback for the St. George Dragons in the New South Wales Rugby League in 1970-78

In 1978, he was the team's captain.

Shulman won a premiership with the St. George Dragons, playing halfback in the 1977 Grand Final. ******

Described as a "shade over five feet tall and weighing 60 kgs

Shulman was the smallest player in first grade when he debuted in 1971.

He came into the side replacing Billy Smith, who had been sidelined with a broken arm.[8]

A back and kidney injury put an end to his career at the end of the 1978 season.
Thanks OY - great

Mark Shulman was tiny - great halfback though.
All that "too small" discourse is nonsense in my view.

Pretty sure that the kidney problem was the result of a knee courtesy of a Parramatta player in the 1st Grand Final of 1977 . Our man Rod Reddy went on a one man hunting expedition after that chasing the culprit from the S.C.G to the wilds of Cumberland oval .

Were you even born at this stage? Not judging.

Again, it looks like you’re multi quoting. Can you please check how you post. It is quite annoying that you include others not intended unless you can explain to me how my post about Dufty is related to Mark Shulman.

It was mate, and as you rightly say, Rocket took revenge.
The 77 GF replay was awesome

Yes I thought so Ray Price ? . I actually went to the same High School as he , can also remember him shoving a hot chilly into my mouth one day on the school bus . I whacked him that hard that he bounced off the steel rail , of course then his ' body guards ' mates got stuck into me - but it was worth it . He never looked at me again after that little run in , but for what it's worth he was a damn good footy player , but also the dirty type , Mr. Perpetual Motion was the name the media of the day gave him .

I guess it was about Dufty being small in size and it led onto other small but champion players like Shulman.
Sorry LG.

I'm just assuming and was told never assume ;), was he intimidated by Warriors size i dont know, but it wasnt the Dufty weve seen lately

I don't know about intimidated, but the Warroirs had certainly watched the video of the Sharks game and never gave him the time and freedom to drift around the feild looking for holes.

I wonder if Mary has ever thought of watching videos of the team they are playing the next week, he certainly didn't notice the Warriors were a much fitter team than previous years.

Mary better have a plan B or C because the same thing will happen on Anzac day ......

It gets harder to make it as a smaller player these days. That's why there's a lot of good footballers running around in the lower grades and why the examples of good smaller players who have made it are long retired.

Dufty is going ok but last week showed he has a long way to go. The Warriors were more than ready for him and hopefully he will grow from that.

Dufty will be a great asset to us but I wish he was as good as the Newcastle fullback, he is phenomenal.

I'll reserve judgement on Ponga, history is full of players that have a stellar debut season but are quickly worked out by the opposition and just as quickly forgotten.

I won't list them here, because quite obviously they've been forgotten.
