Correct, never receive early ball in space.
CC
There were a few occasions he got the ball in a near hospital pass situation but he managed to put on some late footwork to nearly get away. Nothing really come of it but it shows me if he gets that ball with marginally more room to move he will start looking very good. Even back in the M.Gasnier days they were guilty of not using him correctly and not just feeding him clean ball like the weapon he was.

Who is the best centre at the club? I have in reserves and when he first got to grade he was throwing flick passes etc but one went to ground and that seems to be banned now. What I haven’t seen is him getting any good clean ball. Let’s see how he goes if Hunt moves to hooker and Clune and Norman are halves. You put him outside Keary at the Roosters and he’s a different player.
Mate I don't know who the best centre at the club is but I know Lomax isn't "by far and away"
the best.
He may well turn out to be in the future and I hope he does but I am just saying for me I haven't seen anything to suggest that he is a star.

And what opportunity have any of our centers had to show their wares playing Maryball?
I accept that argument. I agree that the whole team is hampered by Mary.
I stand by my statement however, I haven't seen anything to get excited about with Lomax yet.

That's because he hasn't been played in the one position for long enough. mcGregor has played him in 6 different positions...Add to that he is in a side that is on a hiding to nothing.......

Judge him when he is left @ right centre for a year under a proper coach.

There’s barely any good ones available on the market. At our club available right now we have Aitken or Lafai that have played fg Wiliame injured. So right at this point I would put him significantly ahead of those two. Hunt is in career worst form so he’s not getting many chances.

Yeah it may be because of that.
Or it may be because he isn't that good.
I'll wait and see how he is going after a couple of seasons.

I'd definitely be starting Lomax at centre, that's for sure. We know what we get from Lafai and Aitken, Lomax is still an unknown.

Undoubtedly he’s an unknown but I’ve seen a lot of small things with him and especially off the ball to indicate he will be a very good player. He’s big and strong, super fit and is an exceptional goal kicker. I just hope this arvo the side gets a shakeup and we start to see him finally get some ball. One thing I’m positive about is he’s young so will see off Mary and finally get a decent coach before long.

He has a lot more than the Sims brothers that's for sure.

Have a look at his leg drive post contact and for a young fellow it's very very good.

Our halves kill our back rowers and our centres and in fact Lafai is actually ok when he gets early ball in the opposition 40 but we just don't do it very often.

Lomax hasn't shown anything thus far.
I disagree that he is by far and away the best centre at our club.
Since we signed him for 6 years I'd be keeping him there for a couple of seasons but I'm yet to see anything that makes me think WOW.
Just keeping it real.
Tell Mary so. His instructions are rubish and only damping down Lomaxes confidence and ability to shine.

Give me a break. Lomax hasn't shown a fraction of the skill that Sims has.
Just because Fittler rates him doesn't mean we sign the guy for 6 years IMO.
He's just a forum favourite for now.
Trust me though it won't last.

Depends on what we expect from him. If we expect him to walk on water then maybe you are right but if we have more realistic expectations in that he’s a big tall strong centre that can setup his winger, finish, defend his line and kick goals at a high percentage then maybe he will be fine.

The problem with the TSims performances are off and on more times than a tap
KSims will be lucky to make NRL 1st grade again
And both their bodies are injury prone in the latter years
